How I’m Keeping Up With #PFW

One of the things I love about Snapchat is that it allows me to spy on Hollywood A-listers and beauty trendsetters. And now that Paris Fashion Week (PFW) is in full swing, I’m watching all the shows and trying to get a glimpse at the latest beauty trends on the runway.

Like how Gigi Hadid rocked glitter brows for the Giambattista Valli show. What do you think, guys?

Personally, I’m too freaked out by the thought of glitter falling into my precious peepers. So yeah, this is a trend that I’m not too into. But you know what I’m super loving?

This half slick, half wave hair look I spotted on Jen Atkin's Snapchat! It's a backstage shot from one of the shows.

I really wish I had the hair length to try this look! For now, I think I’ll have to settle for the slicked back effect (it’ll look good for summer nights at the beach). Oh, and I have a little tip for you: According to former PMAP president, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, the Bench Fix gel is perfect for that look! It doesn’t flake, offers a long-lasting hold, and it’s cheap, too!  Continue reading

I finally had time to sneak in a mani-pedi. And oh dear lord, I feel like a human again! Haha, pretty colors on my tips and toes just make me feel so happy and confident. (Leave a comment if you agree!)

I was thrilled to see this color on their roster because I’ve been seeing a lot of mint green in the latest S/S 2016 makeup collections. I don’t know if I can apply that color on my lids (like they did here with NARS), so I’m glad I get to incorporate this trendy beauty shade here on my digits.

What polish color is on your nails now? Tell me, tell me! ♥

My Thoughts On Dry Shampoo

I like dry shampoo! I use it whenever I have to prolong a blowout and when I need to freshen up my roots. It really helps add volume and the blast of cool air (if you’re using an aerosol formula) really wakes you up.

I'm currently using the Macadamia Volumizing Dry Shampoo, which I got as a gift from the Jing Monis event in Davao.

It’s simple to use, too.I just blast my strands (I hold the can about 6 to 8 inches away) where my hair is parted and massage the product into my roots (do this well or it can look like you have dandruff). Here’s the thing though: I’m starting to wonder if the rise of women using dry shampoo is connected to the rise of women having hair fall. Since more and more gals don’t wash their strands as often, perhaps it’s causing a scalp imbalance. Clean scalp = healthy scalp, right? Hmmm…I’ll have to investigate this further!

What are your thoughts? Do you think dry shampoo could be one of the culprits of hair fall? ♥

I’m really a sucker for black and white nails! They really make me feel more confident and chic, so I had to go with this look for my Benefit Beauty Bash!

Of course, I couldn't resist adding a hint of sparkle, too!

And of course, I couldn’t resist adding a hint of sparkle also! P.S. Take a closer look at the stones! I made sure they went from big to small for a little more oomph.

I had my mani done at my fave place, I Do Nails, and it didn’t really take too long to do—just like 15 minutes more than your regular mani. If you want to cop this look, any black and white nail lacquer will do. The only trick is to use a thin brush (try an old eyeliner makeup brush) to outline the cuticle area for the black polish. It’ll make clean-up a lot faster!

19 Beauty Stops For Last Minute Christmas Shoppers

Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:

1. Jo Malone
Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.

Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone's philosophy scent layering here.

What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!

Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy's mom or the tough-to-impress sister.

2. Acca Kappa
Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.

And it's partly because of the new hair tools I'm using: a boar bristle brush from Keratin Complex, my Rowenta 2-in-1 Ceramic Ionic Curling Iron, and a paddle brush from Acca Kappa.

My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.

What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!

I'm seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!

3. Burt’s Bees
Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!

What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.

Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.

4. The Aivee Clinic
Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.

Here's a peek at the luxurious lobby at the Aivee Clinic Alabang.

I could spend all day here! It really would be the perfect way to pamper yourself for all the hard work you did in 2015!
