I can’t believe I’ve been away for 4 months. I’ve missed our beauty talks, you guys! How is everyone? I have sooo much to tell you about my European adventure, but for now, let’s talk beauty! There’s so much to review!
Current desk situation and the current products I’m testing.
There’s a good mix in there from makeup goodies to fragrances. I’m going to show you the products up close, so you can leave a comment and tell me which ones you want me to review first. Ready? Let’s do this!
First up: Laneige Two Tone Shadow Bar, Lip Bar, and Water Sleeping Mask. I totally need to use this mask, since the colder weather has been making my skin so dry.
As y’all know, I’m a huge fan of Korean beauty products—and Laneige is one of my favorites! I actually brought these two makeup products with me (but in different shades) when I went to Europe. The Lip Bar was amazing because it’s like two colors in one tube (it’ll save you some space in your kikay kit!). But the Shadow Bar? It lacked pigment and was way too shimmery for me. I’ll give this batch a try though—hopefully this collection will be better.
Have you guys heard of EMK Beverly Hills? Apparently, they use botanical placenta protein in their products!
Normally, I’m iffy about trying new skincare products. I couldn’t resist giving this a try though, because Carla Abellana (she’s one of the hottest local celebs in town!) personally told me that she’s been using this. She sent me a face cream, a night cream, and a toner. Hopefully this can help my skin get back on track after all the traveling! Continue reading →
When you see makeup or skincare products that aren’t available locally, what do you do? Do you purchase from resellers, order online and risk having them shipped, or ask someone who’s traveling to oh-so-kindly buy it for you? Me? I prefer to do the latter. Watch and see what I shopped for!
If you guys see anything you like or want me to review any of these goodies on the blog, leave me a comment! And don’t forget to subscribe (www.bit.ly/SparkleSubscribe) to send me some love!
Did you see me panic at the 1:13 mark when I thought they sent me the wrong product? LOL! ♥
Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:
1. Jo Malone Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.
Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone’s philosophy on scent layering here.
What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!
Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy’s mom or the tough-to-impress sister.
2. Acca Kappa Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.
My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.
What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!
I’m seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!
3. Burt’s Bees Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!
A radiant gift set from Burt’s Bees! They have more sets that range from P795 to P1,495, so there’s something for every budget.
What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.
Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.
4. The Aivee Clinic Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.
Here’s a peek at the luxurious lobby at their Alabang branch. Click here to visit their site and find clinics closer to you.
What To Get: Grab a gift check for your friend who’s in need of some R&R. This way, she can choose whatever service she likes (I reco the Geneo facial) and welcome the new year looking absolutely fresh and gorgeous!
I could spend all day here! It really would be the perfect way to pamper yourself for all the hard work you did this year!
5. Benefit Cosmetics Why You’ll Like It: Their stores always look Instagram-worthy and you won’t get overwhelmed when you’re looking through their displays. I always enjoy reading the fun and witty packaging while testing out their latest products on counter.
This is their newest (and biggest!) store in SM Megamall! More store locations here!
What To Check Out: Definitely get their 12-Days of Gorgeous Advent Calendar because you’ll get to sample all of their best-sellers for just P2,500. Watch my unboxing below to take a peek at all the goodies you’ll get!
There are SO MANY more lust-worthy beauty products to spy on (even if you’re just “window shopping” for yourself). Check them out after the jump! Continue reading →
I got this very exciting note over the weekend—and I was DYING to share it with you guys!
Oooh…the world’s #1 bath soap??? Do you have any idea what it could be?
I’m very into taking long, luxurious showers, so I love trying new sudsers. It makes bath time a lot more fun and it’s a great way to feel pampered after the end of a long day.
Meet the Lux Magical Spell Fragranced Body Wash and Perfumed Soap! You guys are among the first who are getting a close look at this product!
What makes the LUX line so different is that its scents are created by perfume experts from New York, Paris, and London. Some of these top perfumers are even the noses behind ritzy fragrances like Dior, Marc Jacobs, Elizabeth Arden, and Estée Lauder. So impressive!
The scent behind Lux Magic Spell was created by Givaudan’s Nicole Mancini.
It’s a strong and very feminine floral. I would say that the woman behind this scent knows how to work her magic, you know? Like she’s the type who goes for what she wants, she’s very successful, and she likes to treat herself to things that seduce her senses.
Such a luscious purple! The notes: precious and exotic Black Orchid, opulent dark florals, golden amber and vanilla bean.
Here’s the thing: Just like perfumes, the scent totally smells different in the bottle and on your skin. I found that the more I mixed the soap with water, the better it smelled. Some of the subtle, sweeter notes—like the vanilla and dark woods—were able to come out more. I felt refreshed, pampered, and relaxed after my shower!
I love rich lathers! I really suggest you use the body wash with a poof—it’s a great way to work the scent into your skin.
Now for the fun part! I was given a special link that I can share EXCLUSIVELY with my readers, so that you can have these LUX goodies for FREE! To celebrate their launch, LUX is giving away a gorgeous set (complete with a chic leather case!) to the first 4,500 people who sign-up on their site–and they’ll deliver the beauty goodies to your house, too! The link and more deets after the jump! Continue reading →
I’ve been seeing so many Fresh Fragrance Bars popping up in different malls.
There’s more than perfumes in here!
At first, I thought it was just fragrances inside. But there are actually some pretty cool, new brands, too! Here are some of my fave beauty finds at the store:
This multi-awarded mask is the secret behind the red carpet glow of Hollywood celebs! When you have a big event, just apply this mask before putting on your makeup. You’re guaranteed to have a fresh, radiant, and camera-ready skin.
GlamGlow Youthmud, P3,750. Just leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and watch the mask suck out all the oil and impurities on your face!
Nope, it’s not the actor. This brand actually caters more to men, so lead your honey here if you’ve been pushing him to delve more into skincare. The packaging is simple and classy, but more importantly, he’ll love the luxe shaving products that’ll make him feel über masculine and sexy.
They have a few picks for women, too! I’m loving the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm, P475. Lots of delicious scents (or flavors) like Natural Mint, Grapefruit, Lemon. My pick? Black Cherry & Pomegranate!
What’s not to love about this nail polish brand from London? It’s behind the many innovations that have turned into cult-favorites like Caviar nails, Velvet nails, Glow In The Dark polish, and Chalkboard nails. You’ll definitely love the rich colors and different ways you can play around with your digits with this polish. I love that they have lots of color options for the minis, since I can never finish an entire bottle of polish!
Ciaté Pick & Mix, P899.99. You can customize your own set of three mini-sized lacquers or just buy one bottle for P349.95. Fun!
Have you tried any of these beauty brands yet? Thoughts? ♥
