I’ve been playing around with a cleaner, more minimalist makeup style. I’m thinking it’ll be good for gals who need to look fresh and put-together at the office or just want to look gorgeous for their weekend dates ;)
I mixed my favorite Maybelline foundation with the Kate Makeup Lock Primer, P550. It’s great for brightening up tired-looking skin and it gives you a powdery, oil-free finish.
I think the crucial element to this look would be the Lunasol Skin Modeling Eyes Kit, P3,000. It’s a limited edition set that comes with an eyeshadow palette, shiny pencil eyeliner, and peach-toned treatment gloss.
I loved the colors and I was really surprised that it translated well on my lids. Browns always surprise me, to be honest. They really help you look more awake and put-together.
I have to warn you that you will definitely need to use these eyeshadows with a primer to make them last all day. There’s a lot of fallout (especially glitter-wise), but it can be managed if you prep your lids with a good primer and don’t go too crazy when you load your brush.
I think what I should really credit for my fresher than fresh look is the blush. That pop of color on my cheeks was just amazing and it really brightened up my face.
I placed a very thin layer of the Lunasol Coloring Creamy Cheeks EX01 and dusted the Lunasol Coloring Sheer Cheeks 04 (P1,372 for the refill only) on top. You can use the cream blush to create subtle contour if you’re into that, but honestly, I’d say investing in this blush what you should really do. It’s my fave out of the bunch! It goes on sheer, is very buildable, and it’s not super obvious on your skin. Tip: Just get the case for P800 if you want to tote it around.
For my lips, I used the Lunasol Double Coloring Lips 04, P1,630. Super pricey, and if you swatch it at the counter, it won’t look like much—I don’t think it’ll even impress you. But when you apply it on your lips, it gives you a gorgeous, MLBB (my lips but better vibe). If you look at my swatches above, there’s one with and without the gloss. Personally, I like the effect with the gloss a lot better (check my selfie to see what it looks like) since applying it helped spread out the color and made my pout look very kissable.
The brand is under the same company, but this is their more affordable line. I love their brow pencil and their eyeshadows are actually pretty good, too. I think I actually like them better because they don’t have flecks of glitter.
These shades are perfect for gals with smaller eyes (just use the highlighter shade on the inner corner) and you won’t break the bank if you decide to invest in one. My pick from the two though? The Trap Impact Eyes since I like the colors more. But don’t let me dissuade you—look at the swatches first and see which colors you think you’ll wear more.
Phew! That’s a lot of makeup, right? Which one’s your favorite? My Top 3 picks would have to be the Lunasol Coloring Sheer Cheeks, Kate Tokyo Trap Impact Eyes, and the Lunasol Double Coloring Lips. If I’m going all out though, I’d get the primer also. You can use it on both your face and eyes!
