Get Lippie Tuesday: Happy Skin Gets StyLIZed

I’ve got some exciting beauty and fashion news for you! Celebrity stylist Liz Uy collaborated with Happy Skin to create her own line of fab lippies. “Lipstick is a fashion essential because it completes a woman’s look,” she explains.

Just gorgeous! For this limited edition collection, the Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me lipsticks come in chic, chrome packaging.

During the press launch, Liz revealed that one of her requirements before agreeing to partner with the brand was that the lippie packaging had to come in chrome. Such a fab idea and it really does amp up the glam!

Because Valentine's Day is just around the corner, how about heart swatches? The shades: (l-r) Red Carpet, 24 Carats, and Style Icon.

I have to admit that when I first saw the colors, I found them fashionably fab….but predictable. Lipsticks are always exciting, but I’ve played around with reds, neutrals, and fuchsias before. After I swiped them on though, it turned out to be a different (beauty) story.

One makeup look = Three different shades of lipstick. See how your face can transform based on the color of your lippie?

Liz says that the right lip color can change your entire look—just like shoes! And as you can see, she’s totally right. I felt sassy with 24 carats, sweet with Style Icon, and sexy with Red Carpet. All it took were a few swipes of a fresh color to create a new vibe! Now that I’ve tried ’em all, allow me to change my opinion. I think the colors are just superb (especially for Asian skintones!) and I really do like that the moisturizing formula glides on like a dream!

Regular swatches for a better perspective. Don't underestimate it for your typical shades when you see it in the stick. Once you swipe it on your lips, the colors are quite unique and very flattering on Pinay skintones.

The peachy-nude and vivid pink are my favorites. But really—you should get the whole set because it comes with a chic, acrylic clutch. Take a look:

Perfect for going out! Love how the boxes create a little puzzle of Liz's style essentials, too.

The clutch retails at P1,799, with all three lippies included. It might be a little pricey, but I’m telling you, these are all the basic shades you will ever need in your beauty arsenal. I wish I could tell you not to get it, but I can’t deny that it’s really a fab makeup investment. Well done, Liz and Happy Skin!

It was Liz’s first time to create a lip line, so she wanted to go with a palette that everyone can use. And even though her life is all about celebs and high-fashion, I’m thrilled to hear that she’s also big on giving back. A portion of the sales from her collection will also go to the Gawad Kalinga Foundation. Beauty shopping for a cause, guys!

See the brown leatherette case at the bottom? That retails for P1,499. It's a posh alternative to the usual lipstick case.

While at the event, I also bumped into some of my lovely friends!

I didn’t really stay for too long since I was rushing to a meeting. But I was so happy that I got a chance to try the newest from Happy Skin. I really love that it’s a Pinoy brand and that it’s a growing one at that! Happy Skin products are available locally at Beauty Bar and they also ship internationally through their website. So no matter where you live, you can try these fab lippies! The tough part? Figuring out which color to get!

If I only had to choose one...I would get these two! Haha, don't make me choose :p Fuchsia is the "It" color of the season, so you'll want a rich pink like 24 Carats in your kikay kit. And Style Icon is the perfect nude to pair with sultry, smokey eyes!

Fuchsia is the “It” color of the season, so a rich pink like 24 Carats is a must for your vanity kit. And Style Icon is the perfect nude to pair with sultry, smokey eyes! So in my opinion, these two are the hottest hues from the limited edition colors. Should I start beauty hoarding??

What do you think of Happy Skin’s StyLIZed collection? And more importantly, which color is your fave? ♥

Hi! I have the forbidden fruit line and I loved it! I was wondering if this collection looks good on morena skin tone?

    • 24 Carats or Red Carpet might be safer picks for morena skintones :)

  • Not really a fan of loud colors because I have to wear subdued makeup when I work. Style Icon looks like something that I can wear regularly. :)
