Insta-Fresh Makeup Trick

Been sleeping late or partying hard over the weekend? Or are you just getting off a long-haul flight? Then you’re going to want to try this celeb-approved eye makeup trick: use a peach-based eye correcting concealer!

While hanging out with my friend, Alyanna, she said dark circles were plaguing her right now. So I brought her to the Shiseido counter and showed her my latest makeup fix for this problem.

It's the Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector! I actually wrote about this recently—you can check it out here.

If you're dealing with really dark, purplish circles, you need to apply an orangey, peach-shade corrector before your concealer. This way, it can cover up any shadows easily without leaving a gray cast.

While at the Shiseido counter, Alyanna shared her cool beauty trick to looking more wide-eyed and awake. I’ve actually tried the trick before, but I could never pull it off because I was using the wrong eye pencil and the wrong color. Good thing she schooled me!

I read in Cosmo that Jessica Simpson uses this trick with a white pencil to look fresh after a long-haul flight. It looks a bit unnatural on Asian skintones, so a nude colored pencil is actually better.

The only problem with this beauty move is that if you use a normal pencil, the effect will only last a few minutes because the makeup will just disappear as you blink (it’s on your waterline, after all). That’s why I was so impressed with this Nars pencil! Alyanna said it can last up to 12 hours and I believe that it can. We grabbed a quick bite after and the eyeliner didn’t budge from her waterline at all and she stayed totally fresh-faced the whole night, so it looks like it delivers what it promises.

Fresh and glowing! I want this pencil and want her skin!
