My Current Hair Curling Tools

So I’ve been having more fabulous hair days lately! Yay!

Speaking of hair, I'm trying out a new curling iron since my old one is on the fritz. What do you think?

Exhibit A: Messy-sexy waves!

It’s partly because my hair is getting longer and my cut (read about my salon trips here and here!) is growing out so nicely.

And it's partly because of the new hair tools I'm using: a boar bristle brush from Keratin Complex, my Rowenta 2-in-1 Ceramic Ionic Curling Iron, and a paddle brush from Acca Kappa.

Honestly, I don’t do anything complicated to my hair whenever I fix it. I’m lazy that way and I don’t even bother sectioning it when I curl! I just start by washing my hair in the evening. After I rough dry my strands, I brush it out with the paddle brush to remove any tangles.

After that, I grab random pieces (about two inches) and start curling in an outwards direction.

Your curls are only going to be as good as your curling iron, so choose well! I like that this one from Rowenta has a bit of a straight edge, so I get a little more bend in my wave (as if I used a real straightening iron). My strands hold a curl pretty well, so I just mist it with this and it serves as my heat protector.

To smoothen my strands after curling, I just brush it out with the boar bristle brush after and apply a little hair oil or cream for shine.

I set it with a little hair spray (my pick here) if I’m going to be out all day. Otherwise, I just let it be. I also have another trick that I use with a flat iron to tame frizz without losing the curl, but I’ll tell you about that in another post! Hmmm…actually, should I just make a YouTube tutorial about that? Leave me a comment if you want one and don’t forget to subscribe to my sparkly channel and watch my videos here!

P.S.
I actually found the Rowenta curler in a box of old beauty products! I’ve had it for years and it’s the first time I used it, so I forgot the price already (sorry, guys!). I know the brand’s available in PCX and selected department stores. In the meantime, click here for the website and I’ll update this post if I see it in the stores. ♥
