After waiting for months, I finally got an appointment with my love, Jing Monis. Oh my gosh, he’s so in demand—but always sooo worth the wait! I’ve been itching to cut my hair because the length was just too much for me to handle already. Guess I’m really a short hair kinda girl now.
This was supposed to be my hair peg for the summer, but it’s way too hot in Manila—and I don’t have the time to blow dry my hair every day! Read about my past cut and coloring adventure here.
So…snip-snip! Into the stylist’s chair I go. I’m so happy!
Now here’s the struggle for gals with colored hair: maintenance! My color turned a bit brassy and the ends were super dry. I’d stay away from chemical treatments at this point to help my hair recover, but I have lots of big events coming up. To lessen the damage, I just had my roots retouched…but Jing had a better idea.
“After leaving the color on the roots for 10 minutes, I comb through to spread it until the ends,” explains Jing. “This allows it to blend beautifully with your old color while removing any rusty tones. The best part is, it’s less damaging on your strands.”
After any chemical processing, I always make time for a treatment. Tried the Keratin Infusion Treatment (starts at P1,550) and my hair feels much softer now. Yay!
And now for the big reveal…
My traditional selfie with Jing! As always, I love my fresh cut! It’s similar to my Taylor Swift ’do, but I asked Jing to make it more blunt at the ends.
Here’s what it looks like when I style it myself—a little messier, but I like it. Hair that falls right along your collarbone is supposed to be a hot length right now.
If you want to compare what my old color looked like, check out my pics in this post. You’ll really see how the blonder highlights were toned down and how the darker hue made my hair look a lot healthier.
I really find this length a lot more manageable and it makes me feel like I have a more modern and unique ’do. I’m excited to style it in different ways—sleek and straight, slicked back and wet, and with well-defined waves.
Old hair vs. new hair! What a difference small changes can make.
