Sunday Sparkle

Let me ask you something: How do you feel about someone else’s success? Are you happy or sad? Jealous or upset? Angry or excited for them?

That feeling when a child takes his first steps to you and hugs you. That's what I want success to feel like—good for me and great for the kid.

When you catch a child in your arms, you’re thrilled for his accomplishments (yay, first steps!) and you’re thrilled that he chose to walk towards you (aww!). It’s a win-win for everyone! I hope I’m explaining this well, because when it comes to other people’s success, I didn’t always feel this way. I was pretty much a mess! Sometimes, I would get jealous. Sometimes, I would feel happy for them and sad for me. Sometimes, it would motivate me to do better. My reaction would really depend on where I was in my life. But then, I began to realize that another person’s success isn’t a reflection of my failure. And that there really is MORE THAN ENOUGH for everyone out there, so…

Yes!

Whenever I succeed at something, I want the people around me to feel sincerely happy for me. And because that’s what I want for myself, that’s what I’m going to give to everyone else around me. I use every person’s success story as inspiration now. There’s just so much to learn from everyone! It’s very exciting because when their dreams can come true, it’s an awesome affirmation that mine can, too.

Love and sparkles for everyone! Wishing you an exciting week ahead! ♥

medyo na-guilty naman ako. I used to get jealous of other people’s success or recognition too (sometimes), especially when we have the same position at work. I’ll be like, “why her/him? why not me? I work as hard, perhaps even more!”
But then I’ll realize she/he’s my friend and it’s mean to think those thoughts.. :P So now, I try to be happy for them and motivate myself to work harder and add more value to my work. :D

    • Hehe! Don’t feel guilty. It’s natural to feel that way sometimes. What’s great is that you’re aware and doing things to move past that feeling! Galing! :)
