Sparkle Bites: Kanguru PH Food Delivery

It’s finally Friday! One of the things I love doing on weekends is catching up on my favorite series. What are you currently watching? I’m super addicted to Jane The Virgin! I was crushing on Rafael in Season 1, but now, I’m crushing on the guy who plays Rogelio IRL. Haha, don’t judge :p

Sometimes I watch on Hooq, sometimes I watch on Netflix. The only constant? My face mask!

One of the challenges of staying in is ordering yummy food to binge on (I’m a very picky eater and I have insane cravings). On top of that, ordering delivery for just one person can get challenging—especially if the minimum amount is huge and the wait time is over an hour.

That's why I was thrilled when I heard about Kanguru! It's a new food delivery service app, which allows you to order right from your iPhone!

I like that I can shop for food via an app and just add things to my cart—as if I’m online shopping. It means that I won’t have to talk to a (sometimes cranky) rep on the phone or listen to promos being pushed.

Just download this from the app store (available for Philippine accounts only) and you're good to go!

It’s a new way of ordering food for the not-so-tech savvy, so I’m going to walk you through the process. Find out how it goes after the jump! Continue reading

Sparkle Bites: My First Spinning Class At Saddle Row (Part 1)

Actually, it was my first spinning class ever. I had no clue what to expect, but I was super excited to try it!

I was invited by celeb makeup artist, Jigs Mayuga, to take a community class at Saddle Row before they officially open. And yay—Alyanna and Jigs’ boyfriend, George, were there, too!

All I can say is that the 45-minute class was a lot of fun! It’s challenging for those who don’t workout (like me!), but it’s something you definitely have to try.

This is like the lounge area and the lockers are right across it. The area is kinda tight, but cozy enough.

After you register, they’ll ask for your shoe size and give you special cycling shoes to wear with clips at the bottom. I loved putting them on, because I felt like I was getting geared up for an adventure!

Cute, right? There are metal clips at the bottom and it kinda feels like you're walking on uneven ice skates.

Honestly though? I also felt a bit overwhelmed by the experience at first. I’m not super athletic and new situations always make me feel nervous. The venue can be a bit intimidating—especially if you’re surrounded by people who already know their way around. But the Saddle Row crew is very reassuring and they’re happy to guide you through the process, so don’t be shy to ask for help!

Whoa.

Whoa, these aren’t your typical bikes! And btw, isn’t the underground vibe super cool?

When our instructor (hi Topper!) found out that it was my first time, he reassured me that I could do it, and more importantly, that I’d enjoy it. Some classes get competitive and they even post your speed on the wall for everyone to see, but Topper’s class was all about riding to the music and moving to the beat (loved that!).

Makeup For Rainy Days & The New Nars Boutique

Although I’m enjoying the cool and cozy weather in Manila (it’s rainy season!), I don’t want to give in to its gloomy feel. One of my tricks to adding more happy vibes into my life is by accessorizing with bright, inspiring colors…and you can usually spot ’em on my face and nails!

NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Panic and NARS x Christopher Kane Lip Gloss in Mezmer. P.S. I'm sooo in heart with my iPhone case! My Aunty Cristina got it for me since it's the colors of my blog <3

I’m on a polish hiatus, so my hands are staying happy with my bright iPhone case (it really puts a smile on my face whenever I see it!). But what I’m even happier about is this blush duo! I usually layer a bronzer + pinkish blush, so having these shades in one compact makes it so much easier.

Swatched! The two blush tones are quite pigmented. Was disappointed that the gloss was a lot more sheer.

Let’s talk about the NARS x Christopher Kane Lip Gloss first. I guess I shouldn’t fault it for being so sheer, since the shade is described as “sheer neon watermelon” on the brand’s website. It’s true to what it promises, but I think it’s too expensive for a gloss that doesn’t really create much impact for me (unless you’re into collecting limited edition makeup).

Nail Salon Review: Dashing Diva at Central Square

Look what I found—it’s a little nail sanctuary!

Who knew? There's a Dashing Diva hidden inside Beauty Bar's Central Square branch.

It makes it so much easier (and fun!) to soak your toes! Yay for bubbles ;)

I tried the Spoiled Diva Manicure (P450). With these packages, your mani comes with a gentle microdermabrasion treatment for softer, smoother skin. It was my first time to try it and I found the experience quite exciting.

There's this tiny cart with a battalion of creams, oils, and other nail-enhancing goodies. I noticed that most of the products they used on me are from the DD brand or CND.

Another winning DD trait? Sterilized tools! They're sealed in packs, so you can rest assured that they've been cleaned for your safety.
