Ever felt like all the creams you slather on are, well, just sitting on top of your face? Like when you wash your face the next morning, you can still kinda feel the residue on your skin?
Then you might need this! Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Nourishing Facial Water, P1,250.
It’s an additional step in your regimen (you use it after you tone and/or before your moisturize), but it helps your skin in three important ways:
It balances the pH level of your skin. This is important because facial washes tend to make your skin acidic, so this can help keep acne and dryness away.
It preps your skin for hydration. The technology allows the creams you apply to penetrate beneath the surface.
It locks moisture in. The top layer of your skin has a hydro-lipid barrier, which traps the moisture underneath. The facial water helps keep this layer is healthy even if you’re stressed, hormonal, or abusing your skin with harsh cleansers.
I’ve been using it for a few days now and I’m amazed by how soft my skin feels immediately after applying the moisturizer. Seriously, guys. I know this may seem like another product that you don’t think you need, but give it a try before you make any decisions. My suggestion: head to the Burt’s Bees counter (store locations here), swipe a few drops over your right hand, and apply moisturizer on top. Then on your left hand, just apply the moisturizer and observe. You’ll notice that your skin will feel softer and more comfortable.
Think you’ll add this to your skin routine? Leave a comment and let me know! ♥

Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:
1. Jo Malone Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.
Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone’s philosophy on scent layering here.
What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!
Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy’s mom or the tough-to-impress sister.
2. Acca Kappa Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.
My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.
What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!
I’m seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!
3. Burt’s Bees Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!
A radiant gift set from Burt’s Bees! They have more sets that range from P795 to P1,495, so there’s something for every budget.
What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.
Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.
4. The Aivee Clinic Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.
Here’s a peek at the luxurious lobby at their Alabang branch. Click here to visit their site and find clinics closer to you.
What To Get: Grab a gift check for your friend who’s in need of some R&R. This way, she can choose whatever service she likes (I reco the Geneo facial) and welcome the new year looking absolutely fresh and gorgeous!
I could spend all day here! It really would be the perfect way to pamper yourself for all the hard work you did this year!
5. Benefit Cosmetics Why You’ll Like It: Their stores always look Instagram-worthy and you won’t get overwhelmed when you’re looking through their displays. I always enjoy reading the fun and witty packaging while testing out their latest products on counter.
This is their newest (and biggest!) store in SM Megamall! More store locations here!
What To Check Out: Definitely get their 12-Days of Gorgeous Advent Calendar because you’ll get to sample all of their best-sellers for just P2,500. Watch my unboxing below to take a peek at all the goodies you’ll get!
There are SO MANY more lust-worthy beauty products to spy on (even if you’re just “window shopping” for yourself). Check them out after the jump! Continue reading →
Remember when I told you guys I’m on Snapchat? Well, I’m absolutely hooked! I love the live updates and sharing snippets about my #FOTD. Spy on my silly side via @beautyandsparkl to see more sneak peeks like this:
So pimple aside (LOL), what do you guys think of the lipstick? I wanted to try a darker, chocolate brown since it’s kinda been trending, but I wasn’t really feeling it.
I tried the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Foxy Lady.
It’s not a bad color entirely, but if you watch the video, it’s like it wasn’t that flattering on me. Maybe it’s better if you pair this lipstick with an outfit that’s kinda more high fashion or glam or…just black! Haha!
Swatches and see what lipstick I mixed it with to make it flatter my complexion better after the jump! Continue reading →
Burt’s Bees finally has their own store in Manila at Estancia Mall (more deets at the end of the post).
It’s a quaint store right beside Beauty Bar and it’s packed with even more natural beauty finds.
If you don’t like loading up on chemicals, but can’t go full organic, there are a lot of great options here for your face & body.
If you don’t know what to buy yet, you can check out their wall of favorites. It has all their best-sellers!
Whenever I enter a beauty boutique, I like asking about customer favorites. It’s an easier way to shop!
They have baby stuff in the store also (nice if you’re a new or breastfeeding mom!) and a timeline of significant milestones for the Burt’s Bees brand (beauty geeks like me will enjoy this!).
This little nook is a nice spot to sit and try the products. I just hope the mall clears out those wires outside—yikes!
Okay…so now that we’re done with that little beauty PSA, let’s get to the point of this post: Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer!
Ooh…so juicy and delicious!
You might think that calling a lippie delicious is weird, but if you think about it, women reportedly eat about four to nine pounds of lipstick in their lifetime. That’s why I like to go with natural lip products whenever I can.
Last Thursday, I flew to the city of Ilo-Ilo to give a talk about the latest hair and makeup trends—grooming and hairstyling for men included!
Hey, that’s me! I had a lot of fun meeting the local designers, makeup artists, and writers in Ilo-Ilo. Thanks to Amigo Terrace Hotel for inviting me!
It was just an overnight trip, which meant that I had a huuuuge baggage allowance. So I opted to be a lazy girl and packed some of my full-sized bottles vs. transferring them to my mini containers. Check out the bath, skin, and hair essentials that I brought:
Yup, I used every single item here.
Starting from the top left, these are the products:
Bioderma Sensible Dermatological Water Mist to rehydrate my skin on the plane.
Lancôme Youth Activating Eye Cream to banish crow’s feet.
Hygienix Anti-Bacterial Hand Spray because I like to disinfect everything—doorknobs included!
Gosh, I didn’t realize I use this many products! And my makeup isn’t even included here. Some of the skincare and hair stuff, I’m currently testing. I’m super loving the Davines Oi Shampoo and how it’s treating my strands—I just hope it doesn’t give my scalp flakes! Oh, and I got to try a beauty hack that helps prevent shampoo explosions. Look:
To ensure that nothing spills, I cut a piece of plastic (square-sized) and placed it over the opening of the bottle before closing the cap tightly. Watch out for my review of this sudser soon!
This trick totally worked and I was thrilled that my vanity kit was goo-free when I unpacked! I’m going to keep doing this from now on—especially when I use my mini travel containers. Sometimes, they don’t lock as well if you use them a lot.
How many products do you use daily? My travel count is at 14 (excluding makeup, of course!). Tell me what your number is in the comment section below. ♥
