Today’s Nails

I am obsessed with dark, cherry colors right now—but I couldn’t find the exact shade I wanted when I dropped by my favorite nail stop, I Do Nails. So…I tried a little experiment and decided to mix two colors together.

Here are the two colors I used! That's Deborah Lippmann's Dark Side of The Moon and MAC's Vintage Vamp.

Here are the polishes I used! That’s Deborah Lippmann’s Dark Side of The Moon (it looked a little more purplish at the salon) and MAC’s Vintage Vamp.

Looks promising for a dark cherry, right? I swiped on a coat of the Deborah polish first, and right before it dried completely, I applied another coat of the MAC lacquer. Let’s take a look at what I got:'s more of a dark chocolate hue, but I'm not complaining! It looks delicious!

Hmm…it’s more of a dark chocolate hue, but I’m not complaining! It still looks delicious!

If I had more time, I would’ve added a hint of red. But since I was in a rush for my next meeting, I settled for this. I still like it though and it’s always fun to experiment with mixing polish shades. You never know what you’re going to get!

Have you ever mixed nail polish colors? What are your tips and tricks? ♥

Sad Beauty News

Say it isn’t so…

Que horror!

Que horror!

I saw this while I was researching about anti-aging tricks online and wish I could un-see it! Haha! I have a feeling this has more to do with processed sugar and that dark chocolate might actually be okay—but where’s the fun in that?? Boo! Until I verify this little factoid with my derma contacts, I’m gonna have to think twice before ordering dessert and will just drink more water whenever I crave for something sweet. Sigh.

Do you think this beauty tidbit is true? And would you stop having chocolate if ever? Leave a comment and let me know! ♥
