You guys! I just learned this super cool trick from Jane Iredale’s global educator, Shawn Towne.
Use a credit card as a stencil when you’re filling in your brows with powder!
Pretty cool, right? It works super well when you’re defining the upper part of your eyebrows. This part is always challenging for me, because sometimes, you just end up making your brows thicker when your initial line isn’t drawn on straight. With the credit card as a guide, you get a precise line from the get-go.
Full and fierce! Super love how he tweaked my brows! P.S. I’m also loving that highlight. I used the Jane Iredale Glow Time Mineral BB Cream (yes, I totally relapsed).
Check out the fantastic brow powder he used (and more reviews + another #FOTD) after the jump! Continue reading →
Yup, it’s a holiday in my part of the world. It gave me a chance to slow down and say a little prayer of thanks for the freedom our country now enjoys. It also gave me the time I needed to do this.
It was pretty overwhelming to clean my room, but I had to do it! P.S. Follow me on Snapchat (@beautyandsparkl) to see what I’m up—I post a lot more there.
As you can see, my room was starting to look like it belonged in an episode of Hoarders: Makeup Edition. Haha, there were paper bags, products, and press kits strewn all over the place. I couldn’t sit anywhere or use my desk anymore. So I threw away a lot of old makeup, unnecessary junk, and made a giveaway pile for the products (and clothes!) that I won’t be using anymore. Basically, I Marie Kondo-ed the heck out of my space again.
Four hours later, I can finally see my floors and my desk. Best. Feeling. Ever.
Surprisingly, I didn’t really have a lot of stuff—just a lot of disorganized piles all over. It’s still not as clean or as organized as I’d like, but at least I can breathe a lot better in my room now. I really feel a lot more relaxed now and I’m excited to start tidying up-slash-organizing a bit more.
Not as neat , but it’ll do for now. P.S. Forgive the heart! I had to cover up a few work details that I wrote on my board.
I still need to fix the stuff in the boxes, bins, and shelves. But maaaan, I’m so happy it’s not as much kalat (mess) as I thought. Haha! I’m telling you guys, for a beauty blogger, I don’t really have a lot of makeup. I just splurge and buy what’s really g-o-o-d and worth the money!
What about you? What’s the current state of your room or office desk? Tell me, tell me! ♥
I have to confess—I haven’t washed my brushes in a looooong time! That’s why I’ve been using my (clean) fingers to do all my makeup lately!
Meet my magic wands! Haha, I keep them in my vanity drawer.
I have a busy week ahead, so I finally made time to clean them. How? I just use baby shampoo and let them air dry on a clean towel. It takes me a while to clean them, but once I get started, I really enjoy the process! I think this little gadget would amp up the fun though…
Can you believe there are actually washing machines now??? This futuristic-looking one is from Lilumia.
It’s pricey at US$149, but man, it looks so cool! It can hold up to six brushes at a time and uses a rotating motion to swirl it around soapy water. The verdict is still out about how effective it really is, but it sure looks promising!

Think you can get away with NOT washing your makeup brushes? Think again!
Ack, my blush brush is sooo due for a cleaning!! Yikes! P.S. Do you want a review of this ArtDeco blush? Let me know in the comments. :)
I get pretty lazy to wash my makeup brushes, but I force myself to wash them at least once a week—especially my blush brush! Find out the 4 reasons why I think you should never use a dirty one after the jump! Continue reading →
