Sparkle TV: Non-Touring With Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation & Concealer

Have you heard of this trend yet? Non-touring is a more natural and subtle way to sculpt your face (because apparently, people are sooo over contouring now). Basically, it’s like a no makeup look that’s spiked with some major highlighting. Here’s my take on it:

I super love this trend, and apparently, it’s a fave look of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid! I really like how it adds more dimension to my face in photos and that it’s pretty glam without being too cray, you know? First Look: Etude House Berry Delicious Collection

I had a little K-beauty fun last week!

With my favorite partner in beauty crime, Alyanna, at the launch.

With my favorite partner in beauty crime, Alyanna, at the Etude House Berry Delicious launch.

I love Korean beauty brands and fell in love with the country when I visited a few years ago (read about my trip here). That’s why I’m always excited to check out all the new stuff they launch. Here’s what caught my eye from this collection:

The Etude House Berry Delicious Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara, P728.

The Etude House Berry Delicious Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara, P728.

I am always on the prowl for mascaras that can hold a curl. This one looked extremely promising because it has 24-hour curl technology for drooping lashes (with zero smudging!) and a very interesting brush.

The rounded bristles (left side) help curl your lashes and the comb-like side is for lifting and separating.

Use the rounded bristles first to help curl your lashes and the comb-like side (on the right) is for lifting and separating. You’ll have to rotate the wand with care to make sure you’re using the correct side.

My thoughts on this mascara (it seriously doesn’t smudge in the heat) and swatches of a fresh, summer-friendly eyeshadow palette after the jump! Continue reading

First Look: NARS X Steven Klein

Limited edition and holiday collections are always exciting, but I have to say, this one really takes the cake!

It's the Nars X Steven Klein collection! It'll be available at Rustan's this November.

I kinda felt like doofus because I didn’t really know who Steven Klein was. During the intimate event, I learned that he’s one of the most challenging and provocative artists in photography and film. He’s a staple in top magazines like Vogue and is behind many controversial shoots—like that 2005 Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie spread where they acted like a married couple.

The work of Steven Klein is grounded in reality, but he always adds a elements of allure and dark glamour.

For this collection, François Nars and Steven Klein sifted through thousands of images. Their goal? To choose captivating visuals that depict Steven’s body of work over the past 20 years and the overall spirit of their beauty collaboration. Take a look:

A luscious red is always a must for the holidays! This is the Nars X Steven Klein Magnificent Obsession Red Lip Set, P2,250.

All the makeup comes in pretty boxes that you can collect. This one’s my favorite, and I think, the one where you’ll really get your money’s worth.

Nars X Steven Klein Despair Cheek Palette, P3,250. A perfect mix of pinks and blushing bares. That mini Kabuki Ita Brush is TDF, too!

Review: Jane Iredale’s Spring 2015 Collection

Any mineral makeup lovers out there? I think you guys might like this!

Jane Iredale Eye Shadow Kit in Getaway, P2,450.

The limited edition Jane Iredale Eye Shadow Kit in Getaway, P2,450. Such a chic, gold palette!

What I like about this is that it has all the basic shades you need to go from day to night. It’s a good size for travel (or for tossing in your daily makeup kit) and it’s not heavy either. I like to do my makeup on-the-go sometimes, so that’s a plus!

Swatched!

Swatched! Most of the colors are shimmery, but I’m glad they included a matte shade for your crease.

I was impressed by how pigmented everything was and that the nude shades popped on my lids (nice for brightening up the eye area). If you’re an eyeshadow newbie, you’ll like how blendable they are since that makes it a lot easier to erase mistakes. I didn’t need to use a base for the nude shades, but you will definitely need to use one if you apply the black shadow. Otherwise, it will end up smudging all over your lower lashline after about an hour. For those who are curious, here are the names of the shades:

  • Fresh Air (a shimmery pearl)
  • Silence (a shimmery golden peach)
  • Footprints (matte taupe)
  • Tea on the Porch (a shimmery copper gold)
  • Starry Night (a shimmery black).

But wait—there’s more from Jane Ireadale’s 2015 collection! Check out the gel liner and lip stain (it’s great for the #MLBB trend) after the jump! Continue reading
