What Are You Wearing To The Beach?

Choosing swimsuits has always been a challenge for me. It’s not just about the fit—it also has to make me feel confident and stylish at the same time.

I got to try designing swimsuits at the @CesaPh event. FYI: For me, high-waist bottoms are always the way to go!

But because I’ve been wearing this style for years, I thought I’d switch it up with a cute bikini. Here’s one of my faves from the latest Cesa’s latest summer collection:

Cute, right? It's an off-shoulder bikini, so it won't leave me feeling totally nekkid at the beach.

Let’s face it, though. I’m a beauty girl, so aside from prepping my outfit, I also prep my skin for the beach. How? By doing a full body scrub in the shower! About 2-3 weeks before the getaway, I scrub at least once or twice a week to keep my skin soft. Not only does this get rid of rough spots and flakes, but it also ensures that I score a more even tan!

Cesa also has summer-friendly sugar scrubs and soap on a rope! My fave is the Coffee Biscuit since the scent wakes me up and it has actual coffee granules (Tyra Banks says this can help reduce cellulite!).

Sparkle TV: Watch What Happened At My Preview Magazine Shoot!

You guys! I’m super excited to share this with you :)

I'm in the June 2016 issue of Preview magazine! It's the country's top fashion glossy.

I’m in the June 2016 issue of Preview magazine! It’s the country’s top fashion glossy!

I’m super honored that they featured me as one of the beauty bloggers in the issue, because their standards are crazy high. It was such a different experience to be in front of the camera for an magazine editorial (I’m usually standing beside the photographer, directing). I was super nervous, but it turned out to be so much fun!

And it's because I got to work with an amazing team! That's Preview's Eugene David, Belle Rodolfo, and photog Koji Arboleda.

And that’s mostly because I got to work with an amazing team! That’s Preview’s Eugene David, Belle Rodolfo, and photog Koji Arboleda. A big thank you to Belle for choosing me to be a part of this beauty story!!!

I was really anxious and worried that I wouldn’t be able to, well, project. As an editor, I know how crucial it is for the model/subject to emote so we can get the shot. But thanks the fantastic direction of Team Preview, I was able to relax and just go with the flow—no tequila shots required! Haha!

More behind-the-scenes photos (and watch my YouTube video to see what happened during the shoot) after the jump! Continue reading

Sparkle Bites: My Favorite Pieces From Joanique

Guys! Meet my cousins :)

That's my Kuya Nikki and his wife, Malou. She's the designer behind Joanique—a homegrown accessories brand.

That’s my Kuya Nikki and his wife, Malou. She’s the designer behind Joanique—a homegrown and very chic accessories brand.

I attended the launch of Maskara, Joanique’s latest collection for S/S 2016, to check out what’s new. I always see Malou wearing fab rings and unique pieces during our get-togethers, so I was excited to take a closer look at some of her designs.

Chic earrings, rings, and necklaces! I wanted to try them all on.

So many pretty earrings, rings, and necklaces. I wanted to try them all on!

I like that Malou is also very hands-on when it comes to designing and sourcing materials. She’s super OC when it comes to the quality, so you know you’re really getting an investment-worthy piece. The rings, really, are my favorite. They always boast of eye-catching colors and are infused with ethnic designs.

The jewelry has a strong base of gold and silver. I also appreciate the adjustable design also, since I have tiny fingers.

Good thing I just had a mani! Hehe, love how elegant these rings made me feel.

I felt so elegant when I slipped these rings on my fingers. Good thing I had a fresh mani to match (the polish color here).

So pretty, right? Joanique is actually available in stores all over the world (like London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong) and has caught the attention of magazines like Vogue and Le Mag Paris. Very cool!

And most recently, Joanique's caught the attention of fashion blogger and model, Kim Jones! I saw her toting around a Joanique clutch around Paris!

I know, I know. You can hardly see it in the photo. Don’t worry, though. I got a sneak peek at what it looks like! You really have to take a look at how fab it is—it’s inspired by the colorful Maskara festivals in Bacolod. Continue reading
