New Brow Tip For The Kilay-Challenged

You guys! I just learned this super cool trick from Jane Iredale’s global educator, Shawn Towne.

Use a credit card as a stencil when you're filling in your brows with powder!

Use a credit card as a stencil when you’re filling in your brows with powder!

Pretty cool, right? It works super well when you’re defining the upper part of your eyebrows. This part is always challenging for me, because sometimes, you just end up making your brows thicker when your initial line isn’t drawn on straight. With the credit card as a guide, you get a precise line from the get-go.

Full and fierce! Super love how he tweaked my brows!

I’ve been playing around with a cleaner, more minimalist makeup style. I’m thinking it’ll be good for gals who need to look fresh and put-together at the office or just want to look gorgeous for their weekend dates ;)

What do you think? And to think, I'm running on about five hours of sleep here!

What do you think? Full disclosure: I’m running on about five hours of sleep here!

I mixed my favorite Maybelline foundation with the Kate Makeup Lock Primer, P550. It’s great for brightening up tired-looking skin and it gives you a powdery, oil-free finish.

Here's a look at everything I used on my face from Japanese brands Kate, Kanebo, and Lunasol.

Here’s a look at everything I used on my face from Japanese brands Kate and Lunasol. Let’s review them all, shall we?

I think the crucial element to this look would be the Lunasol Skin Modeling Eyes Kit, P3,000. It’s a limited edition set that comes with an eyeshadow palette, shiny pencil eyeliner, and peach-toned treatment gloss.

Cute, right? Very subtle, but it does pack some oomph. I blended all the shadows + used the eyeliner here.

I loved the colors and I was really surprised that it translated well on my lids. Browns always surprise me, to be honest. They really help you look more awake and put-together.

Swatched! Y'all know I love sparkles, but on eyeshadows, not so much.

Swatched! You can’t tell so much, but the darker shadow has a lot of little, glittery flecks.

I have to warn you that you will definitely need to use these eyeshadows with a primer to make them last all day. There’s a lot of fallout (especially glitter-wise), but it can be managed if you prep your lids with a good primer and don’t go too crazy when you load your brush.

And this is the set. It's pricey though, but super nice for beige and champagne shades for Pinays.

I think what I should really credit for my fresher than fresh look is the blush. That pop of color on my cheeks was just amazing and it really brightened up my face. The exact shades, swatches, and more budget-friendly eyeshadow palette options from Kate Tokyo after the jump! Continue reading

My skin’s been a bit lackluster lately—probably due to all the sugary snacks I’ve been munching on and lack of sleep. But I discovered an awesome beauty hack to fix that problem!

Can you tell I'm running on four hours of sleep?

Can you tell I’m running on four hours of sleep?

I was surprised that so many people said I looked fresh the day I took the photo (if they only knew—hehe!). But the kind compliments confirmed that my foundation trick worked, so natch, I had to share the makeup hack with you guys! More about it after the jump! Continue reading

It’s that time of the week again—and I’ve got a fab find for all the MAC (and matte) lovers out there!

It's the MAC Lipstick in Diva, P990. And yes, it's matte.

It’s the MAC Lipstick in Diva, around P900. And yes, it’s matte.

Honestly? I love MAC lipstick hues…a lot. They make me feel like I’m so fashionable whenever I swipe them on. It’s just the kind of lipstick that a cool girl would whip out, you know? The thing is, they hurt like heck when I put them on. It would really dry out my pout and leave my lips cracked for days.

I

It looks pretty red in the photo, but it’s so much darker in person. I thought it would be a chocolate red, but it’s actually more of a dark brick with blue-ish undertones.

Once applied, I was very aware that I had it on. I told myself that I would swipe it off immediately as soon as I felt any signs that my lips were drying out. But you know what? After four hours, I relaxed my beauty muscles. Looks like it wasn’t going to torture my pout this time. Phew! It’s either they reformulated a bit or this magic lip sleeping mask is really working! I use it at almost every other night!

Get Lippie Tuesday

If you’re looking for a classic, red lipstick, you might want to check this out!

I like how the color really grips onto your lips (you’ll feel a firm, tugging motion when you swipe it on) because this means that it’s less likely to bleed out. I’ve been ditching the lip liner because of the pointy tip. As this dulls over time, a lip brush will do for precision application since the formula is pretty budge-proof.

Such a rich and versatile red. I think this will suit all skintones pretty well.

It seems a bit blue-based, but I see some orange-y tones in there also. I think that’s why the Laura Mercier team has dubbed it as a classic, neutral red. Want to see what it looks like on me? Clickity-click! Continue reading
