When you see makeup or skincare products that aren’t available locally, what do you do? Do you purchase from resellers, order online and risk having them shipped, or ask someone who’s traveling to oh-so-kindly buy it for you? Me? I prefer to do the latter. Watch and see what I shopped for!
If you guys see anything you like or want me to review any of these goodies on the blog, leave me a comment! And don’t forget to subscribe (www.bit.ly/SparkleSubscribe) to send me some love!
Did you see me panic at the 1:13 mark when I thought they sent me the wrong product? LOL! ♥
Saw this on Mariel’s IG and the shades (listed in the photo’s comments) are so pretty! Want, want, want!
I’ve always admired Gwen Stefani’s lipstick and makeup style. She’s super cool, fun, and I do enjoy watching her on The Voice—especially now that her romance is heating up with Blake Shelton. Disclaimer: I love Hollywood gossip!
So many colors to choose from! If only I could see them in person!
Can you sense my frustration? LOL! At first, I was torn between getting the red or fuchsia shade. Then, I realized that I need a good red. And that I want a Gwen Stefani kinda red, so…
Maybe this one? The shade is 714 (probably named after the area code in Gwen’s hometown).
I wish I could see them in person and give each shade a good swatch, then I’d know which one I want based on what it looks like on my skintone. I read a few reviews and some said that Spiderweb was more Gwen’s signature red. I’m so confused, so until I figure it out, I’ll just keep watching her latest video and drooling over the lippie shade she’s rocking.
Which shade do you think I should get? Leave a comment and help me figure out which one is closest to Gwen Stefani’s signature red pout! ♥
I’ve been dying to try these mini polishes for a while, but I was in #NailRehab for a few months (had to rest my brittle, yellow nails). Fortunately, my tips are looking healthier so I can finally swatch these myself! Whenever I shop for polish, I really prefer smaller bottles. They’re easier to empty and the OPI sets are a bargain—four colors for the price of one big bottle! A girl’s gotta have her options, right? Let’s check ’em out:
Gwen Stefani Rock Starlets Mini Set By OPI, P745.
(L-R) That’s Hey Baby, 4 In The Morning, Love.Angel.Music.Baby, and I Sing In Color.
They’re all my favorite and they’re all perfect for fall. I love the variety of colors in this set because they emulate rock glam—just like the hot momma who designed the collection. The dark hues and the pop of pink (I’m really a sucker for that) will look good on mestiza or morena hands, too. I’m not a big fan of matte polish, but I appreciated the gritty, gold finish of Love.Angel.Music.Baby. It didn’t feel like it was an incomplete mani without the gloss.
Check out more of the OPI mini collections (like the Muppets Most Wanted and Bridal Nudes) after the jump!
Lucky me got to sit-in on a MAC technique class a few months ago. Celebrity makeup artist, Gregory Arlt, shared a lot of get-pretty tips and it’s made a world of difference in the way I do my makeup now.
Gregory kept all the beauty bloggers entertained with his witty commentary and celeb beauty secrets.
This makeup master has been with MAC for over 20 years and is currently the brand’s director of makeup artistry. He’s a veteran at creating red carpet looks and has worked with A-list stars like Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham. Check out some of his other celeb clients here:
He got über fashionista Gwen Stefani dolled up for her Nylon cover
He did this very look on the sultry Dita Von Teese. Beauty trivia: Katy Perry actually tracked Gregory down because she wanted to work with Dita’s makeup artist!
During Gregory’s class, I was more fascinated with his foundation techniques and how he got the model’s skin to glow. After years of using BB creams, I’m back to using regular foundation (see why here). I didn’t realize I was in dire need of a refresher course when it comes to applying my base.
When I saw how radiant the model’s skin became, it really made me sit up and pay attention. Love how it looks like she’s wearing practically no foundation! More pics inside!
