You guys! I just learned this super cool trick from Jane Iredale’s global educator, Shawn Towne.
Use a credit card as a stencil when you’re filling in your brows with powder!
Pretty cool, right? It works super well when you’re defining the upper part of your eyebrows. This part is always challenging for me, because sometimes, you just end up making your brows thicker when your initial line isn’t drawn on straight. With the credit card as a guide, you get a precise line from the get-go.
Full and fierce! Super love how he tweaked my brows! P.S. I’m also loving that highlight. I used the Jane Iredale Glow Time Mineral BB Cream (yes, I totally relapsed).
Check out the fantastic brow powder he used (and more reviews + another #FOTD) after the jump! Continue reading →
Oh boy! Summer is in full swing, guys. Can you believe that the temperature was 93ºF today and might even reach 97ºF on Sunday? #melting
That’s why I’ve been testing a few new products to see if they’ll help me stay fresh and pimple-free even though the weather is crazy hot.
I’ve been using these for about two weeks now, and so far, I’ve been happy with the results. If you’re looking for beauty ideas and insights on how you can beat the heat this summer, keep reading! I’ll tell you how the products above (from Jane Iredale, NARS, Happy Skin, Elizabeth Arden, Shu Uemura, and ArtDeco) are helping me beat the heat. Continue reading →
Any mineral makeup lovers out there? I think you guys might like this!
The limited edition Jane Iredale Eye Shadow Kit in Getaway, P2,450. Such a chic, gold palette!
What I like about this is that it has all the basic shades you need to go from day to night. It’s a good size for travel (or for tossing in your daily makeup kit) and it’s not heavy either. I like to do my makeup on-the-go sometimes, so that’s a plus!
Swatched! Most of the colors are shimmery, but I’m glad they included a matte shade for your crease.
I was impressed by how pigmented everything was and that the nude shades popped on my lids (nice for brightening up the eye area). If you’re an eyeshadow newbie, you’ll like how blendable they are since that makes it a lot easier to erase mistakes. I didn’t need to use a base for the nude shades, but you will definitely need to use one if you apply the black shadow. Otherwise, it will end up smudging all over your lower lashline after about an hour. For those who are curious, here are the names of the shades:
Fresh Air (a shimmery pearl)
Silence (a shimmery golden peach)
Footprints (matte taupe)
Tea on the Porch (a shimmery copper gold)
Starry Night (a shimmery black).
But wait—there’s more from Jane Ireadale’s 2015 collection! Check out the gel liner and lip stain (it’s great for the #MLBB trend) after the jump! Continue reading →
I’m a lazy shopper. Much to my sister’s dismay (hi, Margaux!), I usually ask her to do it for me. Hehe! She’s been busy lately though, so I just head to one-stop shops—like Rustan’s.
Whenever I shop, I usually end up at the cosmetics counters. Why? Because it’s the least stressful for me and I know my way around. Good thing this Rustan’s The Beauty Addict Card came just in right time!
This card gives you exclusive discounts from your favorite brands, complimentary products and spa services, and even a raffle entry for every P1,000 purchase (prizes vary per season). It’s only P299 or you can get it for free with every P2,500 you spend at the beauty department. So worth it if you’re a makeup or skincare junkie!
Now, let’s see what the latest beauty finds are at Rustan’s:
Brand To Scout For: Jane Iredale
What To Get: The New Starter Kit by Jane Iredale, P2,950.
This travel-friendly kit contains some of the most popular products inside, like the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener, Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder, PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation, and a Mini Powder Brush.
If you have extremely sensitive skin and don’t like to wear a lot of makeup, then this is a good brand to invest in. Jane Iredale is actually a mineral makeup pioneer (she started the brand in 1994) and is known for her Power of 3 skin philosophy—it’s that all you need for gorgeous skin is (1) your foundation of choice, (2) the corresponding application brush, and (3) her nourishing hydration spray.
And they’re all in here! The metallic cosmetic case is chic, has a large mirror on the flap (not seen), and I like that the brush comes with a protector, so it doesn’t get dirty. And there’s plenty of space inside for your other makeup items, too!
Brand To Scout For: Perricone
What To Get: Perricone MD Chloro Plasma, P3,550.
It’s the first transformative treatment mask that has microcapsules that release chlorophyll upon contact with your skin. It smells like delicious peppermint and feels super refreshing on your skin!
