You guys! Benefit Cosmetics is finally launching their newest brow products on July 1! That’s more reasons to get excited for Fridaaaaay :)
These are the three products that I use the most from their collection.
I’m not going to beat around the bush here. Benefit’s brow game has drastically improved. The formulations are better, there are way more shades to choose from, and the magic wand-inspired packaging? Super gorgeous!
What a difference, guys! Follow me on Snapchat (@beautyandsparkl) for more makeup scoops!
I recently tried Ka-Brow! and if you want an Instagram brow, get that! The cream-gel formula is perfect for creating definition and using a brush allows you to control the gradation of color a lot better. The color was too dark for me though (I got #4), so I really use these three more. Continue reading →
With my favorite partner in beauty crime, Alyanna, at the Etude House Berry Delicious launch.
I love Korean beauty brands and fell in love with the country when I visited a few years ago (read about my trip here). That’s why I’m always excited to check out all the new stuff they launch. Here’s what caught my eye from this collection:
The Etude House Berry Delicious Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara, P728.
I am always on the prowl for mascaras that can hold a curl. This one looked extremely promising because it has 24-hour curl technology for drooping lashes (with zero smudging!) and a very interesting brush.
Use the rounded bristles first to help curl your lashes and the comb-like side (on the right) is for lifting and separating. You’ll have to rotate the wand with care to make sure you’re using the correct side.
My thoughts on this mascara (it seriously doesn’t smudge in the heat) and swatches of a fresh, summer-friendly eyeshadow palette after the jump! Continue reading →
That’s my Kuya Nikki and his wife, Malou. She’s the designer behind Joanique—a homegrown and very chic accessories brand.
I attended the launch of Maskara, Joanique’s latest collection for S/S 2016, to check out what’s new. I always see Malou wearing fab rings and unique pieces during our get-togethers, so I was excited to take a closer look at some of her designs.
So many pretty earrings, rings, and necklaces. I wanted to try them all on!
I like that Malou is also very hands-on when it comes to designing and sourcing materials. She’s super OC when it comes to the quality, so you know you’re really getting an investment-worthy piece. The rings, really, are my favorite. They always boast of eye-catching colors and are infused with ethnic designs.
The jewelry has a strong base of gold and silver. I liked the adjustable band design also, because I have such tiny fingers. Hehe! Click here for more designs.
I felt so elegant when I slipped these rings on my fingers. Good thing I had a fresh mani to match (the polish color here).
So pretty, right? Joanique is actually available in stores all over the world (like London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong) and has caught the attention of magazines like Vogue and Le Mag Paris. Very cool!
And most recently, Joanique also caught the attention of fashion blogger and model, Kim Jones! I saw her toting a Joanique clutch around Paris!
I know, I know. You can hardly see it in the photo. Don’t worry, though. I got a sneak peek at what it looks like! You really have to take a look at how fab it is—it’s inspired by the colorful Maskara festivals in Bacolod. Continue reading →
I got this very exciting note over the weekend—and I was DYING to share it with you guys!
Oooh…the world’s #1 bath soap??? Do you have any idea what it could be?
I’m very into taking long, luxurious showers, so I love trying new sudsers. It makes bath time a lot more fun and it’s a great way to feel pampered after the end of a long day.
Meet the Lux Magical Spell Fragranced Body Wash and Perfumed Soap! You guys are among the first who are getting a close look at this product!
What makes the LUX line so different is that its scents are created by perfume experts from New York, Paris, and London. Some of these top perfumers are even the noses behind ritzy fragrances like Dior, Marc Jacobs, Elizabeth Arden, and Estée Lauder. So impressive!
The scent behind Lux Magic Spell was created by Givaudan’s Nicole Mancini.
It’s a strong and very feminine floral. I would say that the woman behind this scent knows how to work her magic, you know? Like she’s the type who goes for what she wants, she’s very successful, and she likes to treat herself to things that seduce her senses.
Such a luscious purple! The notes: precious and exotic Black Orchid, opulent dark florals, golden amber and vanilla bean.
Here’s the thing: Just like perfumes, the scent totally smells different in the bottle and on your skin. I found that the more I mixed the soap with water, the better it smelled. Some of the subtle, sweeter notes—like the vanilla and dark woods—were able to come out more. I felt refreshed, pampered, and relaxed after my shower!
I love rich lathers! I really suggest you use the body wash with a poof—it’s a great way to work the scent into your skin.
Now for the fun part! I was given a special link that I can share EXCLUSIVELY with my readers, so that you can have these LUX goodies for FREE! To celebrate their launch, LUX is giving away a gorgeous set (complete with a chic leather case!) to the first 4,500 people who sign-up on their site–and they’ll deliver the beauty goodies to your house, too! The link and more deets after the jump! Continue reading →
I’m currently working on a few major hair stories for Cosmopolitan Philippines. As I was digging through my files for some beauty inspo, I found this!
My celeb crush Daniel Matsunaga on the cover of the J/Monis Hairzine. Maybe if he’s smoldering at me while I type, I can finish my article! Haha!
If you’ve been following my blog, then you probably know that I go to Jing Monis for all my hair concerns. He really understood how I wanted to experiment more with my ’do more modern and fitting for a girl who does beauty for a living.
The first time he chopped off my long locks! Oh my, that took a lot of trust! Read about my makeover here and here.
What I like about Jing is that even though he has 20 years of styling experience under his belt, he still takes courses abroad to study new techniques that can take your tresses to A-list status. “Jing simply gives his all in his work,” says local superstar and award-winning actress Anne Curtis. “I know he even regularly updates himself with latest trends abroad, making him a trendsetter in hairstyle also.”
There’s Anne (and fellow actress Judy Ann Agoncillo) working the cover of Jing’s latest venture—the J/Monis Hairzine. It’s the first of its kind in the country!
I think of this mag as a chic lookbook that’s filled with the hottest hairstyles. The models? Only all of Jing’s celeb clientele.
One of my faves shots inside is of Andi Eigenmann. Love her hair here!
Take a look at what happened during the launch (and my kilig moment with Daniel Matsunaga!) after the jump! Continue reading →
