I know I’ve been MIA lately. Can I make it up to you?
Join me on Friday, March 10, at Rustan’s Shangrila for the L’Occitane Reine Blanche Skincare Workshop!
They gave me a plus one, so I get to take one of my lucky readers with me! Basically, we’ll just geek out over the products and learn lots of fresh techniques on how to keep our skin bright and glowing. Plus, you can grill me about more beauty tips if you want! Hehe!
Shopping at the L’Occitane store at BGC Central! This was the first time I actually got to try the Reine Blanche line back in 2015 (read more about my faves from this French brand here and here).
If you want to join, just leave a comment on my Instagram page (click here!). I’ll be announcing the winner on Thursday morning, so make sure you join ASAP! ♥
A few weeks ago, I got to take a sensorial journey with L’Occitane (pronounced lox-ee-tan). The reason? We’re celebrating the French brand’s 40th year!
The L’Occitane and Rustan’s team greeted me with a cute lunchbox (matching leaves totally coincidental) at our meeting spot in Forbes, Makati.
After that, we hopped on the bus and made our way to The Farm at San Benito. I was super excited, because the last time I visited The Farm, my body felt so relaxed because of all the healthy (and raw!) food we ate.
Beauty editors inside! The venue is about 2 to 3 hours from the city, depending on the traffic.
We left Manila at around noon and arrived at The Farm around 2:30 p.m. I stayed up late packing the night before, so I was in dire need of freshening up before we hit all the activities.
Look at this place! It’s such a beautiful resort—really perfect for detoxing and RnR.
Walking + hunting down my villa. The paths here are so pretty—kinda reminds me of The Shire from The Lord of The Rings movies.
Found my home for tonight! Who’s excited to take a look inside?
Oooohh!! I love it already. It’s literally glass all around—everyone can see inside and out!
Click ahead to experience this special, sensorial journey with me (and see my funny little escapade with a peacock—hehe) after the jump! Continue reading →
I got a special beauty delivery this week and just dove right in! Check them out below:
Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub, P1,650.
What It Is: A gel-based face scrub that helps get rid of residue, dead skin cells, and excess grime. Its goal is to banish dullness and give you clearer, younger-looking skin via its unique combo of finely ground Ecuadorian ivory palm seeds and nourishing botanicals (like ginger, ginkgo, green tea, aloe and coconut). The best part? It’s suitable for all skin types.
It’s light and you can barely see the exfoliating grains because they’re super fine.
First Impressions: I always turn to a gentle scrub whenever my face starts to look dull and lifeless. I used this right after my trip to Singapore to help get rid of the sunscreen gunk and I feel like it refreshed my complexion. What I liked the most was how fine the grains were, so I didn’t have to worry about microtears on my skin. As for the scent? Aside from the hint of coconut, you’ll barely notice it. It’s kinda pricey for a scrub, but this is one of the products I invest in because it can make or break your skin.
Up next: L’Occitane Shea Face Soothing Fluid. It’s 100% natural!
What It Is: A comforting oil that has two skin-saving ingredients—shea oil (known for its nourishing properties) and marula oil (known for its anti-oxidant properties and fine texture for quick absorption). It’s made for dry and sensitive skin that’s exposed to urban environment, so it’s perfect for city gals who want to give their complexion some TLC.
First Impressions: As far as oils go, this one is pretty light and has a dry finish (you just need to really massage it into your skin). It smells like baby powder and I noticed that it leaves my skin feeling comfortable even though I only used a few drops. It’s recommended that you use this at night to help reverse the damage that occurred throughout the day. If you’re prone to breakouts though, it might be best to avoid this formula.
Want to do more beauty spying? I have two more moisturizers from Mario Badescu and L’Occitane for you to scope after the jump! Continue reading →
Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:
1. Jo Malone Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.
Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone’s philosophy on scent layering here.
What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!
Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy’s mom or the tough-to-impress sister.
2. Acca Kappa Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.
My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.
What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!
I’m seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!
3. Burt’s Bees Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!
A radiant gift set from Burt’s Bees! They have more sets that range from P795 to P1,495, so there’s something for every budget.
What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.
Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.
4. The Aivee Clinic Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.
Here’s a peek at the luxurious lobby at their Alabang branch. Click here to visit their site and find clinics closer to you.
What To Get: Grab a gift check for your friend who’s in need of some R&R. This way, she can choose whatever service she likes (I reco the Geneo facial) and welcome the new year looking absolutely fresh and gorgeous!
I could spend all day here! It really would be the perfect way to pamper yourself for all the hard work you did this year!
5. Benefit Cosmetics Why You’ll Like It: Their stores always look Instagram-worthy and you won’t get overwhelmed when you’re looking through their displays. I always enjoy reading the fun and witty packaging while testing out their latest products on counter.
This is their newest (and biggest!) store in SM Megamall! More store locations here!
What To Check Out: Definitely get their 12-Days of Gorgeous Advent Calendar because you’ll get to sample all of their best-sellers for just P2,500. Watch my unboxing below to take a peek at all the goodies you’ll get!
There are SO MANY more lust-worthy beauty products to spy on (even if you’re just “window shopping” for yourself). Check them out after the jump! Continue reading →
I got an early Valentine’s surprise from L’Occitane!
I wasn’t expecting flowers for V-day (single gal—haha!), so this put a smile on my face. Thanks, L’Occitane!
This cute flower basket also came with the latest fragrance collection that’s hitting their boutiques this February. Take a look:
The L’Occitane Flerus de Cerisier collection! Simple, pretty, and perfect for Valentine’s!
I actually used to buy this very fragrance in its solid perfume form. I don’t know if that’s still available, but check this one out:
L’Occitane Fleurs de Cherisier Fragrance Touch, P1,350. It’s a gel perfume!
You just dab it over your pulse points and the gel texture melts into your skin. I like this because it’s easy to toss in your bag, so you can refresh your scent throughout the day. When you open it, there’s a spout that looks just like your regular lip gloss for easy application.
Here’s what I got to try: the L’Occitane Cherry Blossoms Shower Milk (P1,100) and EDT (P2,400).
