This is the first time I used it months ago. Look how long my hair was!
As you can see, the foundation totally mimics the color and texture of my skin—only better. It doesn’t look like I’m wearing foundation at all, and the best part is, it looks even better IRL.
This is what it looks like at the end of a long day. A little more dewy, but still natural and glowing.
I love it! The pigment is perfect, it feels light on my skin, I don’t need to use a lot, and I basically just apply it with my fingers all the time. Want to find out what it is? Click, click, click! Continue reading →
Paging all makeup addicts! I think you might like this!
Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting 3-in-1 Brow Pen and 2-in-1 Lip Pen.
When I first tried the brow pen, I wasn’t too crazy for it. I liked the color (because it’s perfect for dark-haired brunettes) and the slanted tip (because it made application so much easier). What I didn’t like was that I didn’t get the precision I longed for and I couldn’t get the tip to fill-in those tough-to-reach sparse spots.
But don’t let first impressions fool you! It’s actually quite good once you get the hang of it.
And it breaks apart like this! It’s the Transformers of makeup! LOL
As you can see, it’s a 3-in-1 pen because it has the actual brow pen, a spoolie, and a highlighter. The brush is actually pretty good, because it allows you to soften as you blend without removing the pigment completely. As for the frosty highlighter? It’s just okay. It didn’t really show up on my skin.
The shade I got was 30 and it really is the perfect shade for gals with dark brown hair.
I wasn’t completely sold on the pen upon application, but here’s what got me hooked—I took a photo to document my brows for you and it looked really, really good. I scored fuller-looking arches without the need of brow mascara or powders.
I like matching my outfits to my makeup—not the other way around! I’m not really a fashion girl, so this helps me get a little more excited about picking out what clothes to wear.
It’s errand day, so I just wanted something casual with fun pops of color. As for my glasses? I don’t really need ’em—they’re just for my “feeling hipster” days. Hehe!
I had fun playing around with the Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Artist Plexi-Gloss today. What I liked about the samples that were sent my way is that I had one with a pearl finish (the light beige shade) and one without (the orange shade). But what I really loved was the wand!
The MUFE Artist Plexi-Gloss has a split-tip applicator, so you get the perfect amount of gloss with each swipe.
Compared to the usual doe-foot wand, I found this had a lot more grip in the sponge. It was flexible, so it was able to hug my lips as I swept it over each curve. I liked that I got more precision and that I didn’t waste a lot of product or have to blot any excess gloss off. If you have thicker lips like mine, you may need to dip the wand into the tube twice to pickup more gloss—once for your upper lip and once again for your lower lip—for full coverage. If you’re just using it to highlight the center of your pout, then there’s no need to double dip.

In my part of the world, summer is just beginning. The temperature feels a little warmer on the skin and the extra sunshine is giving everyone good vibes. Makeup-wise? It’s making me crave a fresh and effortless look. Donning heavy eye makeup with the breezy, laidback weather just isn’t a fit.
This look actually takes more effort sometimes.
Getting your skin to glow and your eyes to look bright without making it look like you’re wearing much makeup is tricky! I credit the glow to some makeup magic, good lighting, and the beauty habits I’ve been forcing myself to follow over the past month. More about the products I used after the jump! Continue reading →
