Do you ever feel guilty for your beauty buys and splurges? Well, I have some fab news for you! This month, Benefit Cosmetics is donating EVERY SINGLE PESO they earn from their brow services to Mano Amiga Academy.
Mano Amiga Academy is a school that aims to provide a good education to children from low-income families. Photo: instagram.com/manoamigaacademy
What I found interesting about Mano Amiga was that the organization also aims to help their student’s mothers find stable jobs, so that they can perform better at school. It makes sense, right? The more secure the students feel at home, the better they can perform at school.
So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the nearest Benefit Brow Bar! Not only will you get the arch support you need, but you’ll also be helping the Mano Amiga kids get through school.
Of course, I wanted to join in on all the “giving back” fun by doing a little giveaway for you…Jump to the next page to check out the Benefit loot I’m raffling off to one lucky reader! Continue reading →
If you’re following me on IG, then you already know that I’m in Davao for the weekend!
The struggle when traveling? Packing your makeup! You never know what you’ll need!
I’m here for a little bit of work, since the girls of Browhaus flew me in to give a talk at the Abreeza Fashion Forum (I’ll write more about that soon). I always overpack, so I wanted to bring more travel-friendly goodies with me for this trip.
Ta-daaa! So proud that I didn’t even bring a full-sized foundation! Hehe!
Okay, okay—I’ll ’fess up. I do have another bag filled with more skin and makeup goodies (I can’t help it!!). But these are basically the essentials I used (and usually bring) when I fly. Here’s why:
I always pack a sachet of the Cure Aqua Gel to exfoliate all the sunscreen residue and a face mask to restore moisture. This always saves me from travel-induced breakouts.
I also bring a tiny bottle of My Amazing Blow Dry Secret to make sure my hair looks better in photos. It also speeds up my blowdrying time, which apparently, can be bothersome if you’re rooming with someone. I also pack a small pack of mints, of course!
This side, I’m very proud of! Hehe, these makeup items are all so tiny!
Wow, so many sparkly readers joined the giveaway! I do appreciate everyone who took time to join and subscribe—especially to my YouTube channel. I get very kilig whenever I get an email that someone subscribed. Tee-hee! :)
Anyway…I’ll stop gabbing and get back to the point of this post—announcing the winner of the Simple She Giveaway!
Congrats @itsrisheyallen! Email your shipping deets to email@example.com, so I can send you your goodies!
She caught my attention with the acronym she made for Beauty & Sparkle (see it in the comments section here) and racked up a lot of bonus points by subscribing and following all my accounts. If you didn’t win this round, don’t be bummed! I’ll be having more Freebie Fridays soon :)
Because I love my readers so much, I have another fun Freebie Friday for you guys!
I’m giving away these cute travel pouches-slash-makeup bags from Simply She!
As y’all know, I’ve been busy organizing all the makeup in my room. I’ve been putting lots of knick-knacks away in pouches, so these always come in handy. They’re also great for traveling, because it’s roomy and it’s plastic-coated (so it’s easy to clean if it gets wet in your hotel bathroom).
But guess what? That’s not all I’m giving away! I’m throwing in something fancy and fab from Marc Jacobs to sweeten the deal! Find out what it is after the jump! Continue reading →
I think this is a must-have in every girl’s office drawer:
Nippon The 5-Minute Touch-Up Kit, P250.
Okaaay, so I don’t really have an office drawer because I work from home. But it is a staple in my bag whenever I have a long day ahead. Most of my work days consist of shoots, meetings, and events—sometimes all in one day—so I always grab this kit when I’m running late. It’s perfect for when I need to do my makeup en route because I don’t have to lug around all my brushes anymore. Love that it’s in a handy ziplock bag also (read: no kalat).
What’s in it:
mini sponge wedges
spoolies (or clean mascara wands)
lip gloss applicators
Nippon The 5-Minute Touch-Up Kit is also great for travel since it has most of the primping essentials you’ll need. All you have to do is add your eyeshadow and blush brushes and you’re good to go. Of course, you have to expect that the lipstick and eyeliner brushes won’t be the easiest to work with (it’s a bit flimsy). Can’t complain though, since it will do the job and it’s so convenient to bring around.
So here’s a little secret…Want to know the real reason why I like bringing this kit when I travel? It’s because I can share my makeup without having to worry about sharing germs. This way, if someone forgets to pack her mascara or wants to try my lip gloss, I can lend it to her without getting all weird about it. I just hand her a clean applicator from the Nippon Touch-Up Kit first and make sure she doesn’t double dip. Okay, maybe it’s still a bit weird. But at least we’ll be practicing clean and hygienic makeup habits! You can’t fault me for that, right?
What do you think of Nippon The 5-Minute Touch-Up Kit? Yay or nay? ♥
