19 Beauty Stops For Last Minute Christmas Shoppers

Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:

1. Jo Malone
Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.

Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone's philosophy scent layering here.

What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!

Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy's mom or the tough-to-impress sister.

2. Acca Kappa
Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.

And it's partly because of the new hair tools I'm using: a boar bristle brush from Keratin Complex, my Rowenta 2-in-1 Ceramic Ionic Curling Iron, and a paddle brush from Acca Kappa.

My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.

What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!

I'm seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!

3. Burt’s Bees
Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!

A radiant gift set from Burt's Bees! The pouch is great for traveling, too.

What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.

Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.

4. The Aivee Clinic
Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.

Here's a peek at the luxurious lobby at the Aivee Clinic Alabang.

What To Get: Grab a gift check for your friend who’s in need of some R&R. This way, she can choose whatever service she likes (I reco the Geneo facial) and welcome the new year looking absolutely fresh and gorgeous!

I could spend all day here! It really would be the perfect way to pamper yourself for all the hard work you did in 2015!

The Easiest Nail Art Ever!

If you’re following me on IG, then you know what I was up to yesterday…

Worked on prepping my mind and nails for this week! Seriously guys, you should read this book!

Worked on prepping my mind (and nails!) for this week! P.S. You guys should totally read this book—so many insights for women!

Anyway, I decided to play around with this pretty polish set from OPI because one of my lovely readers (hi, Tet!) mentioned that she misses my nail art tutorials. Don’t worry—I’ll definitely try to do more of them again now that my nails are healthier.

Color Paints Blendable Nail Lacquer by OPI, P???.

This new line of polish allows you to create your own abstract nail art. The colors are semi-translucent, so you get to build and blend with each layer you add.

I rarely finish a bottle of polish, so I like that they're teeny-tiny in size.

Okay, enough gabbing! Let me show you how to do it :)

After your applying your base coat, sweep a layer of the silver polish on each nail.

After your applying your base coat, sweep a layer of the silver polish on each nail.

One coat was enough for me. It dries pretty fast, so the more layers you put, the thicker and streakier it gets. I tried to cover each nail in a few clean swoops, which was fairly easy to do.

Now the fun part! Check out how I colored and played artist with these blendable colors after the jump! Continue reading

Tried & Tested: OPI Coca-Cola Nail Polish

OPI recently parnered with the Coca-Cola company to release limited edition nail lacquers.

Matchy-matchy! My lips, nails, and my very own share-a-coke are all color coordinated.

Matchy-matchy! My lips, nails, and my very own “Share a Coke” are all color coordinated.

It really is the exact shade of red as the Coke logo! That was the first thing I checked out.

Thanks for sending these over, Rustan's! The OPI Icons of Style Duo Pack is P995. Share-a-Coke not included (darn!).

Thanks for sending these over, Rustan’s! The OPI Icons of Style Duo Pack is P995 at the store. Personalized Coke bottle not included (darn!).

The shades: Turn On The Haute Light (silver) is actually inspired by the Diet Coke design. Coca-Cola Red, of course, is inspired by the classic Coke bottle. I actually liked the finish of the silver more than the red. So glad I decided to make it an accent nail.

Today’s Nails

I had a lot of fun hosting and being the brand ambassador (for the day!) of Burt’s Bees yesterday!

Posted a pic on IG right before hosting. I was actually kinda nervous, so good thing I had a lot of supportive beauty editor friends in the audience! Follow me on Instagram via @beautyandsparkl for more scoops like this!

I got to test a few products and super love their lip gloss (read that here), but what I really got excited about was that I could use the brand as inspiration for my nails! Take a look:

Buzz!! I love my bumble bee nail art! Had it done with the help of Raquel of I Do Nails. I'm giving away free mani-pedis from them, too! Click here to win them!

Tried & Tested: OPI Mini Polish Sets

I’ve been dying to try these mini polishes for a while, but I was in #NailRehab for a few months (had to rest my brittle, yellow nails). Fortunately, my tips are looking healthier so I can finally swatch these myself! Whenever I shop for polish, I really prefer smaller bottles. They’re easier to empty and the OPI sets are a bargain—four colors for the price of one big bottle! A girl’s gotta have her options, right? Let’s check ’em out:

(L-R) That’s Hey Baby, 4 In The Morning, Love.Angel.Music.Baby, and I Sing In Color.

They’re all my favorite and they’re all perfect for fall. I love the variety of colors in this set because they emulate rock glam—just like the hot momma who designed the collection. The dark hues and the pop of pink (I’m really a sucker for that) will look good on mestiza or morena hands, too. I’m not a big fan of matte polish, but I appreciated the gritty, gold finish of Love.Angel.Music.Baby. It didn’t feel like it was an incomplete mani without the gloss.

Check out more of the OPI mini collections (like the Muppets Most Wanted and Bridal Nudes) after the jump!
