You guys! Benefit Cosmetics is finally launching their newest brow products on July 1! That’s more reasons to get excited for Fridaaaaay :)
These are the three products that I use the most from their collection.
I’m not going to beat around the bush here. Benefit’s brow game has drastically improved. The formulations are better, there are way more shades to choose from, and the magic wand-inspired packaging? Super gorgeous!
What a difference, guys! Follow me on Snapchat (@beautyandsparkl) for more makeup scoops!
I recently tried Ka-Brow! and if you want an Instagram brow, get that! The cream-gel formula is perfect for creating definition and using a brush allows you to control the gradation of color a lot better. The color was too dark for me though (I got #4), so I really use these three more. Continue reading →
I’ve been playing around with a cleaner, more minimalist makeup style. I’m thinking it’ll be good for gals who need to look fresh and put-together at the office or just want to look gorgeous for their weekend dates ;)
What do you think? Full disclosure: I’m running on about five hours of sleep here!
I mixed my favorite Maybelline foundation with the Kate Makeup Lock Primer, P550. It’s great for brightening up tired-looking skin and it gives you a powdery, oil-free finish.
Here’s a look at everything I used on my face from Japanese brands Kate and Lunasol. Let’s review them all, shall we?
I think the crucial element to this look would be the Lunasol Skin Modeling Eyes Kit, P3,000. It’s a limited edition set that comes with an eyeshadow palette, shiny pencil eyeliner, and peach-toned treatment gloss.
Nice, right? Very subtle, but it does pack some oomph. I blended all the shadows + used the eyeliner here.
I loved the colors and I was really surprised that it translated well on my lids. Browns always surprise me, to be honest. They really help you look more awake and put-together.
Swatched! You can’t tell so much, but the darker shadow has a lot of little, glittery flecks.
I have to warn you that you will definitely need to use these eyeshadows with a primer to make them last all day. There’s a lot of fallout (especially glitter-wise), but it can be managed if you prep your lids with a good primer and don’t go too crazy when you load your brush.
And this is the set. It’s pricey though, but super nice beige and champagne shades for Pinays. If you want to know which Kate product I used for my brows, click here!
I think what I should really credit for my fresher than fresh look is the blush. That pop of color on my cheeks was just amazing and it really brightened up my face. The exact shades, swatches, and more budget-friendly eyeshadow palette options from Kate Tokyo after the jump! Continue reading →
When I noticed that my undereye area was becoming more dry, I knew I needed to bring out the big guns. The skin around our eyes is the thinnest and most delicate, which is recommend that women invest a little more when it comes to eye creams—it’s really the secret to looking young.
I’ve been using the Algenist Complete Renewal Balm, $65 at Sephora. Locally,it’s available at Rustan’s Department Stores (will update this post with the price once I find it).
What I like about this balm is that it suits all skin types and it targets all my concerns: fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness. Most eye creams I encounter only really focus on one concern, so I like that this is a beauty multi-tasker.
Here’s a peek at what it looks like inside. When you dip into the pot, it feels pretty dense and cushy—not light or watery.
I do wish that this came with a spatula, or better yet, was packaged in a pump to prolong its shelf life and prevent germs from contaminating the pot. I’m also not that big a fan of the scent (sometimes it smells kinda funky or sour after I pat it on and I can’t figure out why TBH). But despite these setbacks, I still use it! Why? Because it works!

I have a lot of new lippies to review and couldn’t decide which one to write about first. So I asked the gals on my personal and public Facebook page (follow me here!) which brand they wanted me to feature and Maybelline got the most votes! Why? A lot of women (like me, lol) are looking for budget-friendly makeup finds!
Here’s the reader’s pick for today’s #GetLippieTuesday review: Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipstick, P299 each.
Based on the sheer number of Maybelline posts on my blog, you can tell that it’s my favorite drugstore brand. That’s why I was worried when they released a matte line. Would it look chalky? Would a matte lippie this cheap make my pout crack and suffer? Would it disappoint?
Here’s what the packaging looks like. Not too fancy or exciting to whip out, but the matte cap is a nice touch.
Find out if these Maybelline matte lippies are any good (or if they made me change my mind about it being my favorite drugstore brand) after the jump! Continue reading →
After reviewing several colors from the Kylie Lip Kit line (read it here), I knew I had to get my very own tube from Ms. Jenner. After all, it’s the hottest beauty buy all over the world now!
It’s here! I ordered mine from @duckfaceph on Instagram.
She came highly recommended by fellow lipstick addict and Cosmo.ph’s resident beauty girl, Retty. I usually prefer to buy from the source, but given the frenzy, I decided to just order from a local reseller.
The infamous box with her trademark lip drips. I was so excited to see what’s inside!
The box flips open at the top and her official website is stamped on the flap.
And voilà! A postcard from King Kylie with a note on the back that says…
Love it! And I loved getting a peek at her handwriting, too.
So now that I’ve literally shown you my unboxing, can you guess what I ordered? There’s a clue in the previous sentence I just typed! Hehe! And there was something pretty controversial about its packaging, too. Find out what it is (and see if I got a bum order) after the jump! Continue reading →
