You guys! Benefit Cosmetics is finally launching their newest brow products on July 1! That’s more reasons to get excited for Fridaaaaay :)
These are the three products that I use the most from their collection.
I’m not going to beat around the bush here. Benefit’s brow game has drastically improved. The formulations are better, there are way more shades to choose from, and the magic wand-inspired packaging? Super gorgeous!
What a difference, guys! Follow me on Snapchat (@beautyandsparkl) for more makeup scoops!
I recently tried Ka-Brow! and if you want an Instagram brow, get that! The cream-gel formula is perfect for creating definition and using a brush allows you to control the gradation of color a lot better. The color was too dark for me though (I got #4), so I really use these three more. Continue reading →
I’m loving this violet lippie! It’s such a nice change from my usual pinks and reds.
It was my go-to lipstick while I was in Baguio recently.
And I also used it here!
Do you like it also? It’s the Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer in Grape Pop (click here to see the tube). I love the creamy, rich color (one swipe will do!). There’s also a subtle shine to it, and it doesn’t dry out my lips at all. It claims to last for up to eight hours, but I think you’ll have to reapply after 2-3 hours. Oh, and did I mention it’s also fragrance-free? Win! Continue reading →
Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:
1. Jo Malone Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.
Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone’s philosophy on scent layering here.
What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!
Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy’s mom or the tough-to-impress sister.
2. Acca Kappa Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.
My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.
What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!
I’m seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!
3. Burt’s Bees Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!
A radiant gift set from Burt’s Bees! They have more sets that range from P795 to P1,495, so there’s something for every budget.
What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.
Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.
4. The Aivee Clinic Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.
Here’s a peek at the luxurious lobby at their Alabang branch. Click here to visit their site and find clinics closer to you.
What To Get: Grab a gift check for your friend who’s in need of some R&R. This way, she can choose whatever service she likes (I reco the Geneo facial) and welcome the new year looking absolutely fresh and gorgeous!
I could spend all day here! It really would be the perfect way to pamper yourself for all the hard work you did this year!
5. Benefit Cosmetics Why You’ll Like It: Their stores always look Instagram-worthy and you won’t get overwhelmed when you’re looking through their displays. I always enjoy reading the fun and witty packaging while testing out their latest products on counter.
This is their newest (and biggest!) store in SM Megamall! More store locations here!
What To Check Out: Definitely get their 12-Days of Gorgeous Advent Calendar because you’ll get to sample all of their best-sellers for just P2,500. Watch my unboxing below to take a peek at all the goodies you’ll get!
There are SO MANY more lust-worthy beauty products to spy on (even if you’re just “window shopping” for yourself). Check them out after the jump! Continue reading →
For me, what differentiates a good makeup artist from a great one is the amount of prep work they do on the skin before they apply foundation. If you’re dying for that glow, you really have to start with a good primer!
This set is perfect for experimenting and they’re travel-friendly, too! Get this so you can gauge which one is best for your skin before investing in a full-sized bottle.
Your skin changes per season, so it’s nice to have a mini set you can play around with. You can also mix and match the primers on your skin to score natural-looking highlights, like this:
Since the weather my skin is dry, I used the hydrating primer (in blue) all over my face. Then, I added the luminizing primer (in bronze) from the end of my brows until my cheekbones. P.S. Like my eye makeup? Read what I used here—it’s from Smashbox also!
Fun, right? Keep reading—I’ll show you when each tube is ideal for the skin finish you want! Continue reading →
Lucky me got to sit-in on a MAC technique class a few months ago. Celebrity makeup artist, Gregory Arlt, shared a lot of get-pretty tips and it’s made a world of difference in the way I do my makeup now.
Gregory kept all the beauty bloggers entertained with his witty commentary and celeb beauty secrets.
This makeup master has been with MAC for over 20 years and is currently the brand’s director of makeup artistry. He’s a veteran at creating red carpet looks and has worked with A-list stars like Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham. Check out some of his other celeb clients here:
He got über fashionista Gwen Stefani dolled up for her Nylon cover
He did this very look on the sultry Dita Von Teese. Beauty trivia: Katy Perry actually tracked Gregory down because she wanted to work with Dita’s makeup artist!
During Gregory’s class, I was more fascinated with his foundation techniques and how he got the model’s skin to glow. After years of using BB creams, I’m back to using regular foundation (see why here). I didn’t realize I was in dire need of a refresher course when it comes to applying my base.
When I saw how radiant the model’s skin became, it really made me sit up and pay attention. Love how it looks like she’s wearing practically no foundation! More pics inside!
Want to step up your makeup game and see how you can make your skin look like it’s naturally glowing? Click on the link to read more! I’ll also reveal Gregory’s technique on how to camouflage pimples (especially the ones that are drying out) after the jump. Continue reading →
