Ever felt like all the creams you slather on are, well, just sitting on top of your face? Like when you wash your face the next morning, you can still kinda feel the residue on your skin?
Then you might need this! Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Nourishing Facial Water, P1,250.
It’s an additional step in your regimen (you use it after you tone and/or before your moisturize), but it helps your skin in three important ways:
It balances the pH level of your skin. This is important because facial washes tend to make your skin acidic, so this can help keep acne and dryness away.
It preps your skin for hydration. The technology allows the creams you apply to penetrate beneath the surface.
It locks moisture in. The top layer of your skin has a hydro-lipid barrier, which traps the moisture underneath. The facial water helps keep this layer is healthy even if you’re stressed, hormonal, or abusing your skin with harsh cleansers.
I’ve been using it for a few days now and I’m amazed by how soft my skin feels immediately after applying the moisturizer. Seriously, guys. I know this may seem like another product that you don’t think you need, but give it a try before you make any decisions. My suggestion: head to the Burt’s Bees counter (store locations here), swipe a few drops over your right hand, and apply moisturizer on top. Then on your left hand, just apply the moisturizer and observe. You’ll notice that your skin will feel softer and more comfortable.
Think you’ll add this to your skin routine? Leave a comment and let me know! ♥

Over the past few months, I’ve been battling with really rough, dry, and flaky lips. I got so paranoid that I even consulted with a derma because it didn’t seem normal to me anymore (she just told me to drink more water).
And that’s why I’m using this app again! It’s a fun way to remind me to drink water (read more about it here!).
Still, I was pretty challenged because I couldn’t find the right lip balm for me (this one from Bioderma worked for me before, but I couldn’t find it anywhere!). I used Carmex, Burt’s Bees, and even Lucas Papaw. And although these products kept my lips comfortable and prevented them from drying out, they didn’t really HEAL my skin condition because the flaking was pretty severe. But you know what did work?
This little impulse buy from Sephora Singapore! I saw the Smith’s Strawberry Lip Balm display near the counter and bought it on a whim even though the price seemed a bit steep (about SGD$20 or Php600+).
It’s no secret that the Smith’s Rosebud Salve is legendary when it comes to softening lips, but I never really wanted to try it for two reasons: I’m not a fan of rose fragrances and I don’t like using products that require you to dip into pots or tins for hygienic purposes. So when I saw this variant, which is strawberry-scented and in a tube, I had no more excuses. I was finally going to be able to try the Smith’s legendary, lip saving formula!
Gosh…I hate to break it to you guys, but even the skin on your body ages. I read in Allure magazine that sometimes, your arm flab isn’t really fat. It’s loose skin that’s caused by sun damage or aging! Yikes!
That’s why I was relieved to see that Murad launched the Youth Builder Body line. It’s basically anti-aging for your body!
Being lazy to apply sunscreen and lotion can cause the elasticity of your skin to loosen faster—like a cheap scrunchie or hair tie. So if you want to keep the telltale signs of aging away a little longer (or if you’re exercising a lot and want to boost how toned you look), using firming lines like this (regularly!) can help you keep things tight.

I use at-home hair treatments (like this and this!) as conditioner to tame my strands, but I emptied them out a few weeks ago. So I just grabbed whatever regular conditioner I had from my stash. It was okay for a while, but with the rainy weather + extra humidity, my hair ended up looking like this after a few days.
Ayayay! Haha, even I have bad beauty days! As you can see, my hair is in urgent need of some TLC! It was so crunchy and unmanageable at this point even if I put my usual hair oils.
I had no time to shop or go to the salon for a much-needed treatment. Fortunately, beauty inspo hit and I realized that it was a good time to try something new when it comes to washing my hair. It would definitely bother my OCD tendencies, but for the sake of scoring smoother strands, I was willing to try it!
Yup, you read that right! Try conditioning your hair first before you shampoo.
So…after 30+ years of shampooing first, I switched up my in-shower hair routine! Find out how I did it and if it worked after the jump! Continue reading →
I get cranky when my feet (and shoes) get wet in the rain—especially if I’m en route to a meeting. I don’t like that sticky, damp feeling and my mind goes nuts thinking about all the bacteria trying to make their way into my skin. #germaphobe
I usually opt for boots, but I’m digging the whole sneaker thing recently to keep my tootsies protected on casual days.
The challenge with wearing closed shoes (sexy pumps included!) is to make sure that your feet don’t get stinky. Ever since I heard a guy friend complain about his ex-girl’s feet (he dreaded the moment she’d take off her shoes in the car), I’ve been more conscious of this since you can’t always wear socks with certain styles.
My three tips on how you can keep your feet (and shoes!) stink-free after the jump! Continue reading →
