19 Beauty Stops For Last Minute Christmas Shoppers

Christmas is in a few days and I’ve only bought like two presents. I’m obviously a last minute shopper and if your shopping habits are just like mine, then scroll through the list below to check out where you should go for fab beauty finds:

1. Jo Malone
Why You’ll Like It: The quaint store finally opened in Greenbelt 5 and it’s so elegant! Anything you buy comes packaged in the iconic Jo Malone box (yay for no gift wrapping) and you’re guaranteed to impress whoever you’re shopping for.

Such a pretty store! Read more about Jo Malone's philosophy scent layering here.

What To Check Out: Their famous fragrances and the different holiday sets that are available for every budget. The candles are also perfect for your gal pal who just got married or is moving into a new apartment!

Such elegant gift sets—perfect for your guy's mom or the tough-to-impress sister.

2. Acca Kappa
Why You’ll Like It: The brand is understated, classy, and there’s just an elegance about the craftsmanship of their products. They’ve got stores in Rustan’s and BGC Central, too.

And it's partly because of the new hair tools I'm using: a boar bristle brush from Keratin Complex, my Rowenta 2-in-1 Ceramic Ionic Curling Iron, and a paddle brush from Acca Kappa.

My favorite wooden paddle brush! Click here to read more about my hairstyling secrets.

What To Check Out: Their brushes are fantastic and you’ll feel like a queen whenever you run it through your hair. But my favorite will always be the Muschio Blanco line—I always get compliments whenever I wear this scent!

I'm seriously thinking of getting this for myself, guys. I want the soap and the solid perfume!

3. Burt’s Bees
Why You’ll Like It: If you’re into beauty products that pride themselves in being 99% natural (on average) and environmentally-sustainable, then this is a brand you’ll definitely want to support. Shop over at Beauty Bar, Estancia, or click here if you want to do it online!

A radiant gift set from Burt's Bees! The pouch is great for traveling, too.

What To Check Out: They have lots of affordable holiday kits, but if you’re only shopping for one thing, make sure it’s a lip product. Considering that women reportedly eat about 7 pounds of lipstick in a lifetime, you’ll be glad that you’re ingesting something that’s practically chemical-free.

Fab stocking stuffers for your Kris Kringle baby. The individual lip balms in holiday packaging are only P225 each.

4. The Aivee Clinic
Why You’ll Like It: The reflective crystals and plush interiors in this beauty sanctuary can really help erase all the stress that accumulated throughout 2015. It’s also one of the most trusted derma clinics in town because of their constant innovations in the skin and cosmetic surgery arena.

Here's a peek at the luxurious lobby at the Aivee Clinic Alabang.

Sunburn Relief: Tony Moly Pure Eco Aloe Gel

Did you spend a little too much time under the sun? Then you might want to check this out!

Tony Moly Pure Eco Aloe Gel, P348. This Korean beauty find contains 92% aloe.

Tony Moly Pure Eco Aloe Gel, P348. This Korean beauty find contains 92% aloe.

This soothing gel helps moisturize and soothe sensitive skin. I like that it’s free from toxic ingredients like triethanolamine, artificial dyes, paraben, mineral oil, and benzophenone. That’s super important when your skin is burnt from UV rays, because applying too many chemicals may cause more irritation. You can use it on your face and body, too!

Such a lovely tub of jelly! It feels cool on your skin, but you can pop it in the fridge for more relief!

Initially, I thought I would use this for sunburn emergencies. But since I’m pretty diligent about sunscreen, I had to test it sans UV burns. Here’s what’s surprising: It feels great on normal skin also and you can substitute this for your regular lotion. I like that the scent is light and refreshing. Plus, it also works well to relieve itchy bites (I had some on my arm and the redness went away immediately after application).

The texture of this jelly is practically water-like, since it melts into your skin quickly.

It’s absorbed quickly, but just like real aloe, it can feel a little sticky. I don’t find it bothersome on my skin, just on my fingers and palms when I’m typing away on my keyboard or phone.

The texture of this jelly is practically water-like, since it melts into your skin quickly. I suggest you use a spatula or tiny spoon to scoop out tiny dollops at a time. With the tiny amount in the photo, I was already able to moisturize my entire arm. You only need thin layers of this aloe gel on your skin to get rid of any tightness or itchiness. I’ll be using this a lot over the summer—will just have to make sure I wash my hands after to get rid of the sticky feel.

Will you be using this to soothe sunburn? And what’s your take on gel formulas? Leave a comment and let me know! ♥

Where To Apply Bronzer

Holy moly, summer is in full swing!

I love getting a tan, but I never go under the sun because the UV damage is never worth it. That’s why I just like to create a faux glow by applying a hint of bronzer on strategic areas of my face. Watch the video I did for BDJBox.com to figure out where they are:

I like to go for a light and subtle application when it comes to bronzer, so my skin won’t look too orange or splotchy. If you’re a newbie to using this makeup technique, I suggest you go for a bronzer formula that isn’t long-lasting like what I used in the video (it’s TonyMoly Crystal Blusher in Sugar Brown 05, P328). I really reco this blush because it’s matte, easy to apply, and blends like a dream (read: it won’t stress you out while you’re mastering your bronzer skills). Tip: Don’t worry if you accidentally put on too much! You can easily sweep off the excess powder with this beauty hack!

Do you use bronzer during summer? What’s your favorite? ♥

First up: Tosowoong Platinum Pore Tightening Pack ($19 value).

First up: Tosowoong Platinum Pore Tightening Pack ($19 value).

This is great for summer, since it controls oil slicks and gently removes blackheads from your pores. It’s spiked with tea tree oil and is gentle on sensitive skin, too! As for the scent? Like the smell of freshly cut grass—I wasn’t too crazy about it since it was quite strong.

The mask is chocolate in color and it really does tighten and smoothen your skin. It rinses of easily (yay!), but don't leave it on your skin for too long. 10 minutes is more than enough time.

My favorite product from the box? It’s actually made of donkey oil! DONKEY! Hahaha, I know, I had my doubts also. But apparently, it’s one of Cleopatra’s beauty secrets. More about that and the #NowTrending Korean beauty ingredient for your skin after the jump! Continue reading
