I’ve been dying to try these mini polishes for a while, but I was in #NailRehab for a few months (had to rest my brittle, yellow nails). Fortunately, my tips are looking healthier so I can finally swatch these myself! Whenever I shop for polish, I really prefer smaller bottles. They’re easier to empty and the OPI sets are a bargain—four colors for the price of one big bottle! A girl’s gotta have her options, right? Let’s check ’em out:
They’re all my favorite and they’re all perfect for fall. I love the variety of colors in this set because they emulate rock glam—just like the hot momma who designed the collection. The dark hues and the pop of pink (I’m really a sucker for that) will look good on mestiza or morena hands, too. I’m not a big fan of matte polish, but I appreciated the gritty, gold finish of Love.Angel.Music.Baby. It didn’t feel like it was an incomplete mani without the gloss.
My fave here would have to be the rosy mauve, which is Kermit To Speak. As for the rest, they’re just so-so. The nudes were a bit difficult to swipe on. As you can see in the photo, I ended up having lots of lines and gaps because of the sheer formula + mini brush combo—even after applying several coats.
I didn’t get a chance to swipe these on yet since I felt guilty about abusing my fresh-from-rehab nails! But here’s my polish insight: Nude shades are always tricky for me—I can never find the right one for my skintone. That’s why I think going for a set comes in handy, since you can layer the polishes and create the shade you want. Any brides out there? A mini perk is that the tiny bottles will fit in your touch-up kit, so you can quickly fix any chips that occur on the big day.
What do you think of the OPI mini collections? Which one would you love to take home? ♥
